Please note road closure on Fish Hill and Market Hill (as per the diagram below) from midday to midnight and all public car parking within the area will be temporarily suspended. Just access during these times for emergency vehicles only.

Parking is available at the Warren and the Civic Centre (Royston Town Hall) noting free after 3pm.

The Christmas Light Switch On starts from 5pm and finished at 8pm, come and join the event and support local and the festive atmosphere.

A long-lost story is finally taking flight this Christmas!

Written over 20 years ago by 82-year-old first-time children’s author Mary Waegner, Stanley Discovers the World follows Stanley the stork on a bold, curiosity-led adventure around the globe - inspiring young imaginations while playfully exploring geography.

Mary was first inspired by the treasured storks in Fürth, southern Germany, before a chance conversation with LitFest organiser Sturge (LitFest) helped bring her story off the shelf and into print.

🎄 My Local Life: Linda O’Sullivan (The Honest Fig) & Kirby Morrow (Cambridge Wine Royston)

This December, we’re spreading some Christmas cheer by catching up with two much-loved Royston independent retailers: Linda from The Honest Fig and Kirby from Cambridge Wine Royston.

The pair first met while walking their dogs on the Heath - exchanging the usual friendly hello until one day they both shouted “Riley!” and each dog ran to the other owner. That mix-up sparked a friendship… all thanks to two dogs with the same name!

🧀🍷 So how did their business partnership begin?

Linda launched The Honest Fig on Royston Market four years ago. One Saturday, Kirby- running a Cambridge Wine stall, spotted a new cheese stand, then realised it was Linda behind it. And just like that, cheese & wine became the perfect pairing!

Since then, they’ve continued to support each other’s businesses, bringing exceptional artisan cheese, expertly chosen wines, and plenty of community spirit to Royston’s high street. As we head into the festive season, both stores are ready to help you find delicious treats, thoughtful gifts, and the perfect Christmas pairings. Pop in for some seasonal inspiration and a warm local welcome!
