In this session with L we explored the concept of negative opinions, attitudes and words from other people. The impact that negativity has on children and adults can be immense. However, we can decide if we allow that negativity to stay in our minds. It takes courage, determination and most of all practise to reject it. This can’t happen of course without challenges and difficult times.

It’s important that we emphasis to children that challenges help us to grow. This should happen a little while after it has happened.

Ask your child; what has this challenge taught you? What did you learn from it? How can it make you more resilient?

In this session we had fun realising that using all our energy to dwell on other people’s views and attitudes, helps us to achieve absolutely nothing.

We focused on all the other things she could have been doing and could have achieved by using her energy positively. Negative energy stops us working towards what we should be doing.

I had the absolute pleasure of impacting not 1, not 2, not 3 but 7 young lives this weekend!!

Absolutely incredible to hear feedback from parents about the positive impact I’m having on their child’s life.

The impacts can be seen across a multitude of areas of their life: home, school, at clubs and when travelling to new places.

This only comes when parents, teachers and most importantly the child participate together.

The impact this makes will support them through any changes throughout their young lives and into adulthood. Teaching resilience requires dedication and patience but most importantly from a growth mindset.

Client Testimonial ⬆️

The words in this testimonial illustrates the capacity and competency I possess as teacher, mentor and coach to transform lives.

Children DO NOT learn from teachers they don’t like. It is my role as a teacher and coach to enable children to see the potential they have in themselves. Believe it or not, it is already there. It’s just deep down below inside the vessel.

Building a strong rapport with children during coaching sessions is crucial for their development and success. By understanding the needs and emotions of the child, I can create a supportive and positive environment that fosters growth and progress.

Taking the time to connect each child on a personal level not only builds trust, but also enhances their motivation and confidence.

Remember, every child is unique and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs, to help them reach their full potential. #

Do you feel you have explored every avenue to help support your child emotionally? Do you need support to help them overcome the issues they face in life?

COACHING THROUGH PLAY!

I’m a firm believer that you are never too old to play. I incorporate lots of fun and play into my sessions with my clients.

I don’t only just work with children, in our session with D the whole family got involved. We made our own play dough and used it to recreate the ‘NEW’ version of D.

Whilst making the play dough we recreated the recipe, to include elements of calmness. We practised simple breathing exercises which he can use when he is feeling frustrated.

In today’s session with M we explored the element of control in friendships. When children are young they experience many highs and lows of friendship. We discussed how she can’t control the opinions of others but she can absolutely control whether she is going to accept negative behaviour from her friend.

M has worked consistently throughout our sessions and always gives 100% effort. This is the reason that she has changed her mindset and why her confidence is shining so bright!

We had lots of fun creating a clue hunt. We created clues to the ‘negative comment from her friend’. She searched for the clues and knocked the negativity away. We discussed the characteristics she wants in her friendships moving forward. We practised the responses she would say by having fun and role-playing with Lego.

We had great fun drawing her character and bringing the pencil for a walk; representing her learning journey. I always encourage my clients to see the positive in every situation. We can learn from every scenario.

M told me that she is now more confident to stand up for herself and she respects herself by not letting people’s opinions matter to her.

🟢CIRCLE OF CONTROL🟢

In our programme last week, we explored the concept of control. We discussed that we can’t control other people’s reactions, words or feelings but we CAN control our own.

I teach children from an early age to understand that you absolutely CAN be in control of your own life. We CAN control how we decide to react to events, actions and words from others. We decide our own happiness It can take some effort and work to resignal our brains.

Our brain isn’t our enemy, learnt behaviour tries to tell us negative thoughts. We have the power to teach our brains the impact of positive thinking.

Is your child struggling with their anxiety? Do they find it hard to shake off negative thoughts? Perhaps confidence coaching can transform their mindset!

UPDATE!!!

It has been awhile since I have posted apologies! I have been busy settling into my new abode. I love nature, it’s calming and does wonders for our mental health. This was the reason we decided to sell up and move to the countryside.

I wanted the rural life for our children, to teach them about the wonder, awe and beauty of nature. This has allowed me time to reflect on my own path in life and what I want from my future.

Over the Easter holidays,I will plan lots of things exciting events and programmes. I’m very excited!

For O’s third session I had a planned focus. However, I quickly adapted the session to focus on a problem that we needed to highlight.

O was invited to a football birthday party and his mum had told me he had refused to go. I decided to use this session to explore O’s feelings in the session.

Using previous strategies in our coaching sessions, I helped O to identify what was worrying him. We identified that it was actually the thought of playing new games at the party and looking silly in front of others, which was stopping him from going. We explored the positives about going to the party:

- He already knew some of his friends going.
- He loved the food that was going to be there.
- He knew some adults who will be attending the party.

Using previous strategies in our coaching sessions, I helped O to identify what was worrying him.

By the end of the session O wrote down three new goals for the week:

1. To accept the invitation.
2. To inform his friend he will attend his party.
3. To try a new food.

Within an HOUR, I have the potential to change a child’s mindset. I’m so grateful for the opportunities I’m given to change my client’s lives.
