You might look at NO GENTLE GOODNIGHT and think...

"Here we go, another gangster film."

And you'd be wrong.

Yes, there are gangsters. There’s violence. There’s revenge. There’s dark humour and some very dark places indeed.

But that's not the heart of this film.

At its heart, it's a poetic tale of loss, redemption and hope in a very fragile world.

It's about people. What happens when life takes everything from you, what you become because of it, and whether you can ever find your way back.

That's the story we're telling.

And we're building it independently, right here in Runcorn.

Four weeks from now, we call ACTION. 🎬

Films like El Mariachi, Clerks, Primer and The Blair Witch Project all started with filmmakers who didn't have Hollywood money. They had an idea, a story and the determination to make it happen.

We're doing the same.

We've got a cracking cast, a professional crew, professional equipment, Going Nowhere Productions behind the camera and Sunny Runny pulling everything else together.

We've even got a fancy prospectus now. We've clearly gone up in the world. 😂

Out and about today showing my fancy brochure to anyone who will listen 😂🎬

We’re currently out speaking to local businesses and potential sponsors about No Gentle Goodnight and trying to raise the final money we need to get this film made.

Massive thanks to Compass Design & Print on Percival Lane for our smart prospectuses. They’ve done a cracking job and they definitely make me look more professional than I actually am 😂

We’re now over halfway on the Crowdfunder and just £2.5k stands between us and getting the cameras rolling.

We had two anonymous donations yesterday and, honestly, both of them brought a tear to my eye.

One was £250 and one was £2.

To the person who donated £250, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. That is an incredibly generous donation and we genuinely cannot thank you enough. I would love to know who you are so we can thank you properly, send you something or at the very least make sure you get an invitation to the premiere. ❤️

And to the person who donated £2, thank you too. We have absolutely no idea what that £2 means to you or what you might have sacrificed to give it, but you chose to put it towards our film and that means more than you probably realise.

The truth is, we don’t know the stories behind the people supporting us.

Some people might be able to give £250. Some might be able to give £2. Some might not be able to give anything but can share a post and help us reach someone who can.

🎬 RIGHT THEN… ONE LAST PUSH.

We’re nearly there.

Like… REALLY nearly there.

We need £3,000 to finish getting the equipment together that we need to make NO GENTLE GOODNIGHT.

And then?

WE SHOOT.

The cast are ready.
The crew are ready.
The locations are ready.
The script is ready.

We’ve spent the last year building Sunny Runny, making content, making mistakes 😂, learning, growing and somehow getting ourselves to the point where we’re actually about to make our first feature film.

And bloody hell, it’s been a journey.

We’ve tried grants.
We’ve tried funding.
We’ve knocked on doors.
We’ve tried all sorts.

And being a first-time production, we've discovered there are A LOT of doors that apparently don't want to open for you. 😂

So we’re doing what Sunny Runny does.
