48% of people in the creative industry (that includes marketing) identify as neurodivergent.

Whether you’re in the 48% or not, as marketers, it’s incredibly crucial to not only understand our peers but those we are marketing for and to.

So, we’re delighted to announce our first Hertfordshire event of 2026 with the topic of Neurodiversity, Strengths & Real-World Strategy.

We’ll have the brilliant Sarah from and Nick Silverstone, who will be sharing insights, lived experience, and real-world tactics for:

👉 Masking and rejection sensitivity (RSD) in the workplace
👉 The unexpected role of hormones
👉 Building more inclusive teams and marketing spaces
👉 Playing to your strengths (and managing the rest)

Whether you’re neurodivergent, work with someone who is, or just want to show up better for your team and your community, join us for an open, honest conversation and leave with ideas and inspiration.

I’ve spent years helping brands get attention, but I’ve never run my own workshop. This year, though, has changed everything in marketing. It’s a new era.

It’s exciting, but it can also be daunting.

And when it comes to social media marketing, it needs to be treated strategically (not reactively) more than ever.

Social media is serious business, and I want to help marketers and business owners start treating it that way.

No chasing trends. No gimmicks. No algorithm hacks.

Most social content is created on the fly. Scattered, reactive, and loosely or rarely tied to business goals.

But when you approach it strategically, everything shifts, from the day-to-day to the business impact.

That’s why I’m hosting a morning workshop designed to help you make social actually work as part of your marketing strategy.

We’ll cover:

👉 Defining your audience & goals
👉 Mapping your brand voice (and what not to post)
👉 Choosing platforms that make sense
👉 Building content pillars & a posting rhythm that sticks
👉 Defining success beyond likes

It’s called Build a Social Media Strategy That Actually Works for 2026.

It will be a small group and a hands-on session (max 9 people).

📅 Thu 20 Nov | 09:30–13:00
📍 St Albans, .house

If social is still sitting at the bottom of your to-do list, this morning is your reset.

‼️I will be sending out pre-workshop packs ahead of the day and will tailor the workshop to who we have in the room, so I need to know final numbers by the end of this week.

‼️Please book your place by 10 AM Friday 7 November via the link in my bio.

It’s been eight years since I last went to and this year felt like the right time to go back.

2025 has brought more changes to the digital marketing world than I’ve seen in any other year.

Fast, disruptive, but exciting changes.

There were so many talks on the packed agenda and I wish I could’ve gone to all of them but I kept my choices about strategy, content, and integration.

Here are some takeaways that stood out and matter to marketers most:

👉 Search, social, digital PR and all marketing teams need to collaborate more than ever.
👉 Search isn’t a query anymore. It’s a conversation.
👉 Traffic is a vanity metric. Trust is the goal.
👉 Brand for people. Structure for machines.
👉 Reputation is revenue.
👉 AI is changing how people search, but trust, brand, and behaviour still decide who they trust.

Search, social, and content are blending fast.

The brands that accept these changes, and act like people will come out on top.

Social and search have officially collided, and I’m excited to head to to learn what’s next!

I’ll be there on Thursday.

If you’ll also be there, let me know! Let’s meet up for coffee, chats, inspiration, and sea air.

A busy week, a chest infection, and a whole lot of caffeine later (including one espresso martini) 🍸

This week was packed. Full of fun, momentum, and that fast-paced energy that used to be my everyday when I was agency-side.

A chest infection and a stacked diary don’t mix well, but I’m ending buzzing (and ready for a lie-down).

💬 Spoke at the first ever SocialLab event in London. A huge well done to the team for launching something so needed (and selling it out!).

🌍 Met Eniko, founder of .fem in person for the first time after months of working together remotely. She’s building something really special in femtech, and I’m so happy to be part of the early team.

⚡️Turned around a quick project, had some great new business chats, and started planning the next Hertfordshire event, which I’m excited for.

Not forgetting the day-to-day supporting clients, shaping strategies, and creating content that helps their businesses grow.

Did I miss something? Probably.

Bring on the weekend and hopefully I’ll be fighting fit for another full one next week, including on Thursday!

It’s that time of year when the 2026 predictions start rolling in. And yes, I’ll probably share mine too... But this year is different. It’s like the social media playbook has been ripped up 🔥

We’ve had wave after wave of change, from the rise of social search and the impact of AI, to constant algorithm shifts that can boost or break an account overnight.

But the biggest shift isn’t technical. It’s behavioural.

⏱️ Time spent on social platforms is falling for the first time in a decade. Not because people have lost interest, but because attention has fractured.

🪦 We’re not “leaving” social. Social media is not dead. We’re just spread thinner across more spaces.

🤗 Private groups. Niche communities. DMs. And (most importantly, I think) real-life conversations. IRL over Zoom is back!

🤕The feeds feel noisier. But they’re also less social.

For brands, this changes everything ‼️

Influence now lives in smaller circles.

Discovery happens through trusted voices, not just algorithms.

Social has become search, and search is becoming social.

So before you jump on the 2026 trends, ask instead:

Is your strategy built around how people actually connect now?

It’s time to rip up the social media playbook 🔥

Are you in marketing but don’t have a social media strategy? Do your social media posts feel scattered? Do you know that...

Are you in marketing but don’t have a social media strategy? Do your social media posts feel scattered? Do you know that social media should and could positively impact bigger business objectives, but you’re not sure how?

I can help.

After years of helping brands get attention, I want to help more marketers navigate social and build a strategy that actually works.

So I am going to host my first workshop!

I know all too well that social media is noisy, messy, and too often left at the bottom of the marketing pile.

Posting in a hurry, chasing likes, copying trends… that’s not a strategy.

This will be a small workshop for marketers that will help you make sure social doesn’t sit in a silo.

There is space for just nine marketers to be in the room together. To get clear on what social is really for, and leave with a 2026 plan that actually supports your marketing and business goals.

This isn’t a “social hacks” course. It’s for marketers who want social to pull its weight:

👋 In-house marketers (from juniors and apprentices to managers) who want a proper strategy, not just a posting cycle
👋 Content creators who need clarity on what’s on-brand (and what’s not)
👋 Solo marketers juggling everything
👋 Anyone tired of churning out posts with nothing to show for it

You’ll leave with:

🙌 A crystal-clear picture of your audience & social media goals
🙌 Your brand voice mapped out (and what not to post)
🙌 Which platforms to prioritise (and which to ignore)
🙌 Content pillars that make sense for your business
🙌 A posting rhythm you can actually stick to
🙌 A definition of success

You’ll also get a pre-event pack, a fill-in-as-you-go workbook, and a content plan template.

Social media is a bit of a mess right now 💩 I’ve actually questioned if I should give up and go sell fruit on a beach 🍍

But I’m persisting, and for anyone else in the thick of the mad social and digital world right now… hopefully this makes sense…

September always feels a bit like new year in marketing. I’ve been looking back at the year to date and ahead to the next few months.

This year (in fact even in just the last few months) we’ve seen:

📉 Significant algorithm shifts across all major platforms
🤖 Even more content flooding our feeds due to AI
👀 Audiences lurking more than they’re liking - reach and engagement are generally down

Proving the value of organic social in particular is a challenge.

I recently came across the term “social media engagement recession” (credit to ) and it couldn’t be more accurate.

Because that’s exactly what we’re in.

It might feel like engagement has disappeared, but it hasn’t.

It’s just gone dark.

People are still on social! They are watching, scrolling… 👀

But attention is harder to win and even harder to keep for brands.

And it can’t be achieved by chasing trends or churning out more content.

As we start to see “what to do in 2026…” posts, I think this is the time for brands to NOT chase the next trend or new feature.

Instead, I think brand strategy and how that shows up on social is more important than ever.

💪 Be different and own your brand, don’t be a slave to the algorithm.

PS. If you need a social and digital strategist to work with your brand or agency I’m available 👋 I’ve not resorted to selling tutti fruity on the beach yet!

Availability update 👋 Due to (a couple of) unforeseen changes, I now have availability for social and digital marketing consultancy work.

The past few months have been fantastic, mostly working with founders and small teams across various consumer and B2B industries.

Recent highlights include:

👉 Leading marketing for a fintech startup as Part-Time Marketing Manager, repositioning the brand, leveraging a national sports partnership, delivering full-funnel content across SEO, email, and social, and overseeing a full website rebuild.

👉 Driving visibility and lead generation for a brand agency, increasing reach, content performance and email engagement while supporting new business development.

👉 Delivering content and community growth for a local car garage. Instagram views up 112% in June and another 75% in July, tied to strategic messaging and local marketing.

👉 Helping a shopping centre build digital presence and local loyalty, doubling Instagram followers and increasing retailer engagement by 92% through local-first content and community-building.

👉 Launching a digital video tour startup across Herts, Beds, Bucks and London, positioning the brand, establishing tone of voice, and delivering organic social content that supported a paid social campaign to convert leads.

👉 Creating a full communications strategy for a Higher Education provider, refining messaging, supporting SEO, and increasing engagement across Instagram, LinkedIn, and web.

And of course, there’s the pure passion project: The Marketing Meetup Hertfordshire, where I’ve been co-hosting events and building a local marketing community I’m incredibly proud of.

I work best with founders, small teams, and agencies. Whether you need a short-term partner or just someone who can get 💩 done.

And since it’s (almost!) August and many people are away, I’ve launched a new flexible service…

Business Concierge, for ad hoc marketing support, without the commitment, from one hour to six hours.

Social media and SEO have been working closer together for a while, but this is it.

They’re merging more quickly.

Since the 10th of July, Instagram content from professional accounts now shows up in Google and Bing searches.

This is a clear shift that demands integrated thinking.

I’m seeing the lines between SEO and social blur more every day.

If you’re not already, it’s time to align your social and SEO strategy.

Be great to hear how you’re finding this update – has it impacted your digital strategy? Are you seeing results already?
