The story of Robinson Goldsmiths in Bangor began during the 1980s. Dental technicians Eric and Rosemary Robinson decided on a dramatic career change. They were already skilled in modelling precious gold. However, dental work did not fully satisfy their artistic potential.
They established a dedicated workshop on Prospect Road in Bangor. The premises allowed them to craft and display bespoke collections. Their imaginative fine jewellery quickly gained attention across Northern Ireland. According to Visit Ards and North Down, the brand became famous for bespoke wedding bands.
The enterprise evolved naturally into a dynamic family affair. Growing up alongside the craft, daughter Jennifer McCabe trained as an accomplished Goldsmith and designer. Her sister Gillian joined the team to direct sales strategies.
