🚨Clamp Golf Co. Cup🚨

THATS THREE!!!!!!

What a great day with excellent company, on a top golf course!

I was looking forward to coming back to after last year, and it didn’t disappoint!
34pts with Gross 84 wasn’t bad considering I wasn’t great off the tee and I putted very poorly, with 4 missed from inside 3ft today.

Huge thanks to .tour for great organising again, Rotherham for hosting us, for being the sponsor and DP World Tour player .m for supporting the event.

That’s put me now on a tally of 1230pts and still in first place.

Next up is for the penultimate event of the 2025 Summer Series

🚨2020ProTour - Waterton Park GC Results🚨

GET IN! Second win on the tour this year!

I was worried about this one, as last year it brutalised me, embarrassed me and majorly humbled me, in regard to how tough it was with its DEEP and LONG Fescue rough.

This year, despite the rough being majorly cut back, it was no less easy, due to the drought we’re in. Of all the course we’ve played, this was probably the driest from tee to green. But I must say, the greens were decent. Considering they had recent priority work on them.
I love playing Waterton Park, but it just doesn’t love me back 😂😂😂

It was an ugly victory with just 30pts, won in a count back, but a win is a win and a well needed boost of 150pts, taking me to 1080pts, keeps me top of the league with 3 events left.

Rotherham GC next, which I can’t wait for, coz last years event there was a lot of fun, on a class, old golf club.

Thanks as ever to the 2020ProTour team for putting in a great event and to the staff at Waterton Park for the welcome and hospitality.

🚨 2020ProTour Kenwick Park x Ignis Sports Management Result🚨

Wet; Windy; Challenging - PERFECT!
“Can I have another go?” They were my exact words as I walked into the club house and spoke to Adam Walker.
I absolutely loved those conditions today! Up to a 3 club wind at times and it really did make me think on shots.
Oh and I forgot to mention whilst the wind and the rain battered it down hard in a second flurry on our back 9, we had tree branches falling around us as we looked Richard’s golf ball - slightly hair raising 😂
Thanks for the company and the laughs today Richard - it was a top round with you, pal!

I played much more controlled today. The swing felt good, my course management, on the whole, was better, and my putting was much more on point.
And well 2nd place and an extra 120pts for the League was more than welcome.

Next up is Waterton Park on 18 Aug. A course that I need revenge on after last year. Coz damn that was the toughest set up I’d played in years and it beat me to a pulp.

The course was perfect! Credit to the Greenkeepers and staff. I can’t wait to come back!

Amateur League Results🚨

That was a struggle on Fri 1st Aug 2025! Simple as!

A great tee shot on the first followed by 92 poor ones afterwards - or at least that’s how it felt! 😂

The game, in all its facets, just wasn’t there and that’s shown in the stats, as well as the scoring.

Head scratching as I struck the ball really well Fri, Sat & Sunday last week, so came into this quite happy with how the swing felt - amateur golf, eh? 😂

HUGE congrats to my pal and playing partner , on a great win! 35pts was a good score on a well set up course with well paced greens - they were challenging to say the least.

Thanks for the company Andy Carter and Michael Harrison. Good laughs were had throughout, despite our absent golf that day 😂

On to tomorrow (4th Aug) for the next event.
Lets hope at least one facet of my game rears it’s pretty little head - I’m running outta my balls 😂

🚨 .tour Romanby GC 🚨

Another great headline event. This time brought to us by recent DP World Tour BMW International Open winner

Again, like many of these events, my first time around there, and it was in great shape.
The field started in the 10th and I’ve gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed the round. Greens were in great shape and last nights rain help the ball hold on the green when a good approach shot was hit. They ran true and at a decent pace.
Great prep by the Greens staff.

For me, 3rd place again keeps the points ticking over and now I’m standing at 760.
3 of use tied on 34pts but I was demoted to 3rd on count back.
Some poor shots hit, certainly on out front 9 costing me hard, with two doubles and a triple - 9th hole of the day being the ultimate ‘WTF’ moment, with my playing partners audibly hearing me saying the choice of shot off the tee was a bad idea as I addressed the ball, yet I hit it, went OB and made a triple bogey 7 - GENIUS ROB! 🙄

In all honesty I couldn’t hit an iron shot to save my life on the front 9. Way too quick in transition and bottom grooving nearly every shot!!!

Back 9 (the cards front 9) was different gravy! 19pts with 1 outta 3 decent birdie chances made but much better approach play with irons, just when I needed it.

Next stop will be Wakefield GC on 1 Aug. Heard good things about the course and again, another new on for me.

Congrats to Dan on the win in the Pro/Elite Am division and well played and a deserved win tonight Christopher Barley on an impressive 40pts and a great Champagne Drowning celebration 😂

Peaceful, tranquil and in superb condition currently.
A joy to play on, especially in the evening sun.

🚨 .tour Lincoln GC Results🚨

A little late getting this out, so I’m sorry.

A tough day in the golfing office! After playing Captain’s Prize at Dunham Forest the previous two days in that heat we had at the weekend, the forecast was for a rush of rain. And honestly I was looking forward too it.
Alas it never appeared and my golf swing evaporated in the heat, with it! The day was muggy and hot all into one, and I was just fatigued - bottom line.

The course however was gorgeous! Very flat but that didn’t make it easy at all. Much like Harrogate the bunkers are placed strategically so mortals like myself find the fairways ones with ease 😂 Again poor course management and not thinking straight with tiredness; but being the ever perfectionist, that’s just lame excuses - I should have known better.

Oddly I felt, when we walked off the course, that’s I’d done enough to possibly have won, despite not knowing my points, as Andy and Michael (both my playing partners for the round) had blobbed several holes, where I had only blobbed one. But sadly it wasn’t meant to be.

In the end a 3rd place finish to bag 100pts and take my total in the League to 660.

Headline event coming up on 21 July brought to us by which I’m looking forward to very much.

There’s a good round coming, I can feel it! And to have it on my Birthday week would be rather special I’d say.

Happy golfing to all this Open Championship weekend!

🚨Captains Prize Result 12th & 13th July ‘25🚨

That’s was BRUTAL! I don’t think I’ve been as exhausted after two days of golf in that weather. But damn it was fun!

The course was in the best condition for the Captains Prize and the organisation by the Captain and the rest of the team was exemplary - thank you..

For me golf wise, I felt fairly in control most of the rounds.
Starting on the 5th (what a hole to start on) and finishing on the 4th was a really good change, and I loved it.

Sadly finishing with a 9 on my final hole on Saturday, really put me in a no win situation, after playing pretty well most of the day.

Sunday was just a case of ‘beat the previous day’ with a look to try reduce the hcp, as I was out of it by that point. And the round was the best I’ve had tee to green all season!
10/14 F.I.R
12/18 G.I.R

Alas two really poor lapses in concentration on my 15th & 16th holes of Round 2 spoilt a score that would have been in the Gross 70’s, but none the less that 81 is my best gross round Dunham in completion in 2025.

Congrats to the victor because to shoot Net 66 & 65 in that heat was fantastic regardless of Hcp.

🚨 Headline Event - John Parry🚨

Well that’s 5th event of the Summer Series on 2020ProTour ticked off, with a 3rd place finish and another 100pts.

What a great layout is as well! Wished I’d have had a practice round as it really forces strategic play off the tee, which, despite going for the correct shots on the front 9, I couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo and had more doubles and triples than Stag at his own Stag Party 😂😂😂

My good friend wrote exactly what I needed to read in his blog today, which was the following:
Have I played? - Hardly (as he wrote also) if I take last week in Ireland out, anyhow.
Unless there’s a 2020ProTour event, I’ve played once a week for most of the summer season so far.
Have I practiced? Very little at all, for most of this season - nothing like I have in previous years when only 2 mins from my previous club, compared to the 20-25min journey now.

So things need to change in that regards.

Going out in 47 (+13 for just 10pts) and coming back with 40 (+5 for 19pts) is insane.
But the positive I can take, is that I did fight back well, on the back 9; even if my game didn’t feel like it was at the races all day.

But with a good score difference dropping off, I’ve shot up 0.8 to 8.8hcp now - not where I wanna be at all.

The Amateur League is getting tighter though. I’m still ahead, but only by 90pts now and with only being able to guarantee playing 2 of the next 3 events, I need to edge that points tally further.

I best knuckle down and get things sorted, me thinks.

Thanks again to Harrogate GC for putting on a stunning and fair test and to the 2020ProTour team for a well organised event once more.

Vlog coming soon.
