Happy New Year all šŸ‘‹

I’m back at my desk today after a bit of a digital breather over the festive period (as much as you can when you’re juggling multiple social media accounts!). It was good to step away and spend time with family and friends.

Now I’m properly back and raring to go, with some great projects already underway. If you need a hand with your socials this year, you know where to find me.

Here’s to a year of health, happiness and work that feels good. šŸ’›

Big love,
Sarah x

A lot of small business owners I work with have been saying the same thing lately:

ā€œSocial feels noisier than ever.ā€
ā€œWhat used to work suddenly doesn’t.ā€
ā€œEngagement has dipped and I can’t work out why.ā€
ā€œAnd now I’m supposed to understand AI too?ā€

Totally fair points. So I pulled together a clear breakdown of what’s changing next year, and what’s actually worth your energy.

A few big shifts stood out:

* AI becoming part of everyday workflows (in a genuinely helpful way)
* Short-form video still doing the heavy lifting - but with more value, less gimmicks
* Social doubling up as search, discovery and even checkout
* The continued craving for real people over polished perfection
* Paid social getting smarter and more accessible

Did you know…

97% of UK SMEs are already using social to grow their business.
So this isn’t something ā€œextraā€ anymore. It’s part of how we show up - so it’s probably not the moment to stick your head in the sand and hope for the best.

If you want a clearer view of what’s shifting, I’ve pulled everything together in an article, breaking everything down - what’s changing, why it matters, and what small businesses can actually do.
If you fancy a read, the link’s in the comments.

There’s also a free 2026 Social-Ready Playbook at the end - a simple guide to help you get organised for next year.

Let me know if any of the trends surprise you. x

I don’t know about you, but September can bring a mixed bag of emotions.Ā
The back-to-school buzz. The bittersweet quiet. The pressure to ā€œget back to itā€ while still trying to remember what day it is.
So here’s what I’m looking forward to… and what I’m absolutely not:

šŸ’› 5 things I’m excited for in SeptemberĀ
1. Quiet… like, actual quiet. That sweet silence after they head to the school bus feels borderline luxurious.
2. All my creative ideas from summer actually seeing the light of day. I might finally have the headspace to start that new project…
3. Routine, you beautiful beast. The return of structure means mornings that feel manageable when juggling multiple clients.
4. Hot tea, a tidy-ish desk, and a full to-do list that you may just be able to tick off.
5. Autumn energy and cosy jumpers. Crisp air, fresh notebooks, the joy of fresh starts.

šŸ™ƒ 5 things I’m not looking forward to…
1. The germs. The school petri dish is open for business, and you know it’s definitely coming home - an endless loop of sniffles, colds, and mystery bugs.
2. My eldest heading off to uni.… I’m proud, obviously. But also a little bit gutted. (Still pretending I’m fine but not sure I’m ready for this one 😢)
3. The admin. Forms, emails, logins, ParentMail, forgotten passwords. It feels like a frickin’ full-time job!
4. My tan fading. I was starting to get used to looking healthy...
5. Suddenly remembering everything I forgot. Oh yes, that client follow-up. That deadline. That form. That… 😬

What about you? What’s on your list? x

Scrolling through old posts for inspiration that just isn’t coming?

The goal is to [engagement goal].
Include keywords like [insert 3–5 keywords].
