A one off tax on landlords to fund a cash pay out for rising heating bills.

People are already complaining of high rents.

What do these politicians expect the landlords will do, accept it and swallow the costs?

No, not likely. Many landlords may pass the rising costs onto the tenants. This will cause more poverty for more people.

The majority of these energy bills are from gas and electric. Instead of the ordinary tax payer being the consumer let them be the producer.

Bring back the feed in tariff system where spare electrictity generate can be offset against bills.

Give proper funding to home owners to install green measures - air source heat pumps, solar panels. These provide green electricity, can off set bills, meet net zero ambitions and genuinely help people.

Other improvements include double glazing. Many older properties in the UK are still single glazed. Help fund double glazing to improve heat retention.

If the government doesnt want to give out free money then have a tiny amount on interest on it.

Any other common sense ideas?

RISHI SUNAK was told to target landlords with tax hikes by The Green Party, in order to give every household in the UK £320, as cost of living soars.

Common Sense UK: Feeding the migrants.

It’s been reported that the migrants are being fed takeaways upon arrival.

We need to change the minds of migrants wanting to make the hazardous journey across the English Channel. The mayor of Calais has already said the UK is the “el dorado” for migrants. Housing, health, education and welfare are what they will get. It doesn’t help there is a welcoming party for them.

Migrants are being fed takeaways upon arrival in Dover which is like a reward for them. Their first taste of the land of milk and honey. Validation that the risk they took was worth it.
Many hardworking tax payers can not afford a restaurant meal, let alone a takeaway, in some cases weekly shopping. Living costs are rising but salaries hardly.
Instead of providing the migrants with a takeaway meal give them soup and bread. Healthy nutritious soup. Give the contract to a Samaritans type charity. Take a vegetable-based soup, fill it with vegetables and cook it down. There will be no issues with food allergies or preferences. It might not be to every ones taste but it is healthy and filling.
Yes this is budget food…but its much healthier than a pizza. We are all told of the health issues associated with junk food but its given to the migrants?
Soup and bread.
Bottle of water. Done.

Cost per person? No more than £3 including recyclable bowls.
I was on exercise with a UK national outfit and the Germany Military. We were full of ‘casualties’. What did they give us to warm our stomachs?
Yes. Soup and bread.
Surprisingly what is acceptable for military personnel is not acceptable for migrants?

Welcome.
I believe in common sense.

I believe in applying it to today's challenges and achieving practical solutions.

Common sense is often a taboo subject now. Every one's feelings need to be accounted for. Sometimes that is not possible. A broad solution that works is the best.

The same applies for cost effective solutions.

The same applies for having fair solutions.

Some times people over complicate things.

I hope the content and posts are thought provoking and eye opening. Some viewers may be offended. But the majority will accept the pragmatic and practical views on offer.

Please like, share and follow us.

I will do my best.
