A former police spokesperson in Lagos State, ACP Chike Oti, is battling kidney disease and has appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant.

Oti, in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday, August 22, in Lagos, said he was recently diagnosed with fifth-stage renal failure and he needs about N25 million.

He said, “My dear brothers and sisters, my name is ACP Chike Godwin Oti, recently transferred as ACP DFA, Railway Police Command, Ebutte Meta, Lagos.

“I wish to inform you that I was recently diagnosed with fifth-stage renal failure, also known as an end-stage renal disease (kidney failure) occasioned by unmitigated high blood pressure at Lagoon Hospital, Bourdillion Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

“It is recommended that my only chance to stay alive is that I must undergo hemodialysis twice a week until I am able to raise the sum of N25 million for a kidney transplant.

“On my own, I have spent about N3.5 million for the one week I spent at the aforementioned hospital.

“The cost of keeping alive is way beyond my means right now. I, therefore, seek your help, dear brothers and sisters, to surmount this terrible illness.”

My husband elder sister's son just gained admission to the Polytechnic close to our house.

So, my husband ask him to come and stay with us, instead of having to R£nt an H0stel.

He has been staying with us now going to two months

Atanda, three days ago i noticed a change of behaviour in my 9 yrs old daughter and i had to do my observation and i noticed my daughter has been defl0wered.

After going back and forth, she finally told me its my husband elder sister son staying with us.

Sir, I told my husband about it, he called the elder sister

The elder sister immediately R£nted an apartment for the son and took him out of our house, now my husband is begging to let the matter go if i love him and if i refuse to let it go, he will £nd the marriage with me.

6th Nigerian National sentenced for international scheme that defrauded elderly U.S victims

A 50-year-old Nigerian national, Amos Prince Okey Ezemma, was sentenced to 85 months imprisonment in the United States for his role in a transnational inheritance fraud scheme.

With the sentencing on Monday, July 22, 2024, each of the six Nigerian defendants connected with this matter has been sentenced.

According to court documents, Ezemma was a member of a group of fraudsters that sent personalized letters to elderly victims in the United States, falsely claiming that the sender was a representative of a bank in Spain and that the recipient was entitled to receive a multimillion-dollar inheritance left for the recipient by a family member who had died years before in Portugal.

The victims were told that before they could receive their purported inheritance, they were required to send money for delivery fees and taxes and were instructed to make other payments. Victims sent money to the defendants through a complex web of U.S-based former victims.

The defendant and his co-conspirators also convinced former victims to receive money from new victims and then forward the fraud proceeds to others.

“The Justice Department’s Consumer Protection Branch will continue to pursue, prosecute and bring to justice transnational criminals responsible for defrauding U.S. consumers, wherever they are located,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian M. Boynton, head of the Justice Department’s Civil Division.

Kano Emir Sanusi Escapes Dëäth As Fire Guts Palace, Throne Destroyed

A fire outbreak suspected to have been set by yet-to-be-identified persons has reportedly destroyed a palace at the Gidan Rumfa where the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, is occupying.

The incident, according to sources from the palace, said it happened Friday night, around 11pm.

The source said one of the palaces located at Kofar Kudu where the Emir sits every Monday for court was seriously affected.

“It was the palace at Kofar Kudu. You know the palace has an entrance from inside while the main entrance is from the front (outside). The key was forced open and what was suspected was that they broke in, set the fire and locked the door.

“The throne, air conditioners and other valuables in the palace have been destroyed,” the source said.

When contacted the Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abudullahi said the command was not aware of the incident as there was no call regarding the incident at any of the agency’scentres.

However, the Chief of Staff to the Emir, Munir Sanusi Bayero, Dan Buram Kano, in a statement confirmed the incident.

He said, “On Saturday, 13th July, 2024 morning, a fire incident occurred at the outer court of His Highness’s Palace, Kofar Kudu. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the damage was minimal.

“The palace is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the palace and its occupants. We are also investigating the cause of the fire and taking steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a couple (name withheld), over an alleged attempt to sell their two-year-old son to travel to Canada.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Hundeyin said that the couple, aged 28 and 22, were arrested on Tuesday while attempting to sell the boy off.

The PPRO said that on Tuesday, at about 2.45 p.m., the Isolo Divisional Police Officer (DPO) received information that a couple went to Isolo General Hospital and declared their intention to sell their baby boy.

“Upon receipt of the information, operatives from the station moved swiftly to the hospital where they were about to sell their child,” he said.

“The baby’s age is two and he has been rescued. Upon interrogation, the couple confessed that they decided to sell the baby to enable the man to travel to Canada for a greener pasture.

“However, the investigation is ongoing,” he added.

I GOT DRUNK AND WOKE UP NAK£D 😭😭

On the 23rd of July 2020, still in Dschang when I was in my second year at the university, we decided to organize a hostel party, where everyone was to contribute 5k and we were to use all the money contributed to buy food stuffs, and drinks for the party.

The morning if the feast, the boys went to rent chairs and buy drinks and us the ladies were in the Kitchen cooking. The guy came back and prepared the hostel hall where the party was to take place.

They arranged the tables and placed drinks on them. Each table 2 a bottles of Pastis, since it was the cheapest whiskey they saw in the market.

8pm came, and it was time for the party. I dressed up in my mini gown and went to the party. Everyone was sh0cked seeing me in a mini gown. I was flawless, but less did I know my flawlessness was to end in the floor.

By 9pm, we started eating, but I never wanted to drink yet because I was still acting mature. When my maturity went down, I took my glass, opened a bottle of Pastis and started drinking. I invited my table mates to drink, but they told me to keep on drinking, while promising to join me later.

I drank until I later started seeing people double double. My eyes were dark and I my legs were heavy. Minutes later, I was gone....[Drunk]

At 4am the next morning I felt some morning cold passing through my toto, I woke up and noticed I was in the party hall with two others and we were all nakéd and sleeping on the floor. Alcohol immediately dried from my eyes. I spied my toto if it was touched, and I noticed it wasn't.

I searched for my key all round the hall and I didn't see it. I searched for my gown too, but I saw nothing. I went to my table and discovered my keep there with the bottle of Pastis I opened. Since there was no dress, I saw a rag (the rag the boys used in drycleaning the hall) I took the rag and wore it. Luckily, it was a T-shirt rag.

I walked through the compound of the hostel and entered my room. As I entered my room, I only came out 3 days later with the shame of the world on my face. When I came out, one of my neighbours went to her house and brought out my gown saying "I washed your gown Mef"

I asked her what happened and she explained everything. She said I drank a bottle of Pastis alone and that I started dancing like someone who just discovered music for the first time. She said I even vomited all round the hall and concluded saying "all your dress was vomit and we couldn't find your keys to put you in your room, so we just undressed you and made you slee in the all"

When she said all these, I entered my room back and came out after 1 week.
