We are a proud member of the working group for Scunthorpe Tomorrow and we’re looking forward to seeing what comes from these Neighbourhood Labs and the main Place lab at Heslam Park.

These events are coming up & will shape our area so get involved!

This is your opportunity to get your voice heard and see genuine action take place. Throughout September and October, Scunthorpe Tomorrow will be hosting a series of NeighbourhoodLAB events in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council and Community VISION.

Part of a government-funded programme, you’re invited to help shape the future of your neighbourhood. These events are all about amplifying your voices - the very voices that make up our community - to ensure that local people directly shape how this funding is used!

Heslam Park is home to not one but two amazing local sports teams!

We're proud to work with Scunthorpe RUFC and support Scunthorpe Town Cricket Club however we can!

What a cracker we have today at Heslam Park as first plays second in the ECB Lincs Premier League.
STCC sitting just behind leaders Bracebridge Heath will be looking to continue their good form and close the gap ready for a final push.
We welcome back into the side skipper Henry Wilson (All Things Travel-Sadie), Thomas Giles (KSB Coaching)and Callum Mann (Tom Lane Fitness)
Stumps are 11-30 in our final home game of the season so get down early and take in what promises to be an outstanding day of quality cricket, bar will be open and food available.

A little later than planned, but I’ve now submitted my CPD for the year and I’m pleased to share that I’ve been awarded Chartered Marketer status once again!

Delivering high-quality training sessions is something I take great pride in, and one of the ways I ensure this is by aligning my training with the Global Professional Marketing Framework from CIM - The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

I consider the training my client is requesting, bring in my experience of what I know would also help them & then look to the CIM to make sure I'm bringing in elements of their Marketing Framework where possible.

Working independently can sometimes feel isolating—there’s no one to bounce ideas off when you hit a creative block. That’s why being a CIM member is so valuable to me, it gives me a "colleague" to bounce off … even if they don’t offer quite the same cheek as my old colleagues 🤣🤣 !

Promoting myself ..... Not my strong area. Promoting my clients ..... I love it.

When it comes to my own work through Evolve, I’d probably give myself an old-school grade of D- for my marketing efforts. Why? A mix of personal reasons, self-doubt, and the usual behind-the-scenes stuff. But I’m determined to change that—so here I go!

Over the past month, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the brilliant team at Ongo Recruitment ,helping them explore how to use video content more confidently and creatively in their social media marketing.

Not everyone was comfortable being on camera (something that resonates with me!!!), so we focused on ways to create engaging content without needing to be front and centre. We also stripped things back to basics—clarifying their messaging and brainstorming fresh ideas for future posts.

Some of the feedback so far includes ......

👍 “It was perfectly pitched.”
💬 “The session gave me a lot more knowledge. I now feel confident putting content together with a clear understanding of my audience and goals.”
👍 “Knowing you can have fun and show real life in your content was so beneficial—it takes the pressure off.”

👍 “Karen is great, knows her stuff, and is well organised—no improvement needed!”

My first employability event of the day .... three great sessions chatting to job seekers about how they can use LinkedIn in their job search! The event is open until 2pm so head there if you're looking for a new career or a change of scenery!

Now off to UCNL University Campus North Lincolnshire I go ready for the round the table event for Scunthorpe Tomorrow!

I’ve had one of those days today that leaves my friends and family not sure what I actually do!

- First thing I was teaching online for University of Lincoln
- Then a well over due catch up with the lovely Rachel (we were supposed to be talking Samaritans but got distracted by having a normal catch up)
- Home for emails and partnership info for SRUFC
- Then a trip to Humberside Airport where I got to learn all about Uni-Fly (and I got to sit in a helicopter!!!). Where I then learn lots from the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce town council meeting
- Finally home for some tea and then more teaching online!

On my drive around I caught up with some of my Evolve clients as one of them has a big event next week and lots to chat about!

Variety is the spice of life and all that 🙌🏼💚💪🏼
