WE ONLY STOPPED FOR COFFEE… BUT POPLARS FARM HAS CHANGED A LOT 😳☕️

Vikki and I needed to head over to Winterbourne, so naturally we turned it into a little Bristol family coffee stop at Poplars Farm ☕️

They’ve been making lots of changes there, and it’s always interesting seeing these local places grow and evolve. A proper little everyday moment from British family life — coffee, a quick look around, and one of those stops that becomes part of the day.

We’ve stopped at IKEA because William required cinnamon rolls as a matter of absolute urgency 😂

Not furniture. Not storage boxes. Not sensible home essentials.
Just emergency cinnamon rolls for a very serious ten-year-old situation.

FLASHBACK: LYME REGIS, ROCKPOOLS… AND WILLIAM’S BOOK COMING TO LIFE 😳🌊📚

A year ago today we were out and about in Lyme Regis, gathering pictures for William’s book Secrets of the Seashore 🌊📸

Rockpools, seashore discoveries, fossils, sea air and one very excited young author — exactly the sort of East Devon/Dorset adventure that helped bring the book to life.

Still pretty amazing that William turned his love of rockpooling into his own little seashore book at ten years old ❤️

GEORGE’S BIG BRAIN TAKES ON BRISTOL’S MOST HAUNTED PUB?! 😳🧠🏴‍☠️👻

George has brought his huge brain into the room, so we decided to share some fascinating facts about The Llandoger Trow on King Street in Bristol.

This place is genuinely amazing and slightly terrifying in equal measure — pirates, ghosts, maritime history, literary legends, and one of the most historic pub buildings in the city.

It’s exactly the sort of Bristol story George’s Big Brain was made for… although I’m not sure either of us would fancy being locked in there overnight 👻
