worked from my favourite beach spot today. still can’t quite believe it’s real.

Closed the laptop, opened a cider, watched the sea crashing in while the sunset came through the clouds.

got tired of wasting years missing all of this for a career. so i changed it. took two years of evenings and weekends building the van to make it happen. but honestly it was all worth it.

I won’t lie, it took a lot of work, research and long evenings and weekends.

but this is what it was all about.

It changed my life

“You can’t work from a beach”

20 years of emails from bed. phone before my eyes were even open. thought that was just what work looked like.

i turn 40 this month. this was my office this morning. still did the job i’m paid well to do.

if someone told you career and freedom don’t go together, they were wrong. you don’t have to choose.

my thoughts tonight…

brew in hand, sun going down over the water before the week starts.

working remotely from the van i built. picking a new spot every day. moments like this, every evening.

i used to spend long days in a house, four walls, calls running late into the night, no time for the coast my heart actually craved.

now i do both, anywhere, and life feels full. balanced. different.

i already know the comments this’ll get. “must be nice.” “that’s not a real career.” “you can’t build a business from a beach.”

here’s my honest answer. i run a team of 150+ people globally. nothing about that stopped. i didn’t downgrade my career for this life. i just stopped letting the career decide where i was allowed to be happy.

so — genuinely — do you think you have to choose between the two?

i didn’t think i had what it takes to build this either. no trade background, a job that took most of me, a daughter who needed the rest.

so i just started and believed in myself. Researched every step, taught myself electrics, carpentry, plumbing and how to find the pencil 1000 times. figured it all out as i went. but with a clear vision and plan.

two years later it’s done and i’m still a bit surprised by that but the journey made me realise most people could do this too, they just need someone to guide them along the way.
