Saturday 18 October 2025.
Aurora Alert over the South of Scotland, a little late, but managed a few frames on the Fujifilm X-H2, using the manual Samyang 8mm/f2.8 FishEye II, a hint of green and red. Captured from Selkirk Golf Course, and even a hint of the Milky Way, I think a "Dark Skies" visit may be on the cards once we get some clear nights.

A little 360° image from our visit to the Jardin Majorelle, a botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakesh, Morocco.
It was created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle over almost forty years, starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. The property was the residence of the artist and his wife from 1923 until their divorce in the 1950s.
In the 1980s, the property was purchased by the fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent and his business manager Pierre Bergé who worked to restore it. Today, the garden and villa complex is open to the public. The villa houses the Berber Museum and in 2017 the Yves Saint Laurent Museum opened nearby.

When you head out on the coffee run, and think maybe I can capture a frame or two of the Otters at Tweedbank Pond, but all you manage to capture is a Heron and a couple of snaps of a Kingfisher.

General Views of the Haining House and Grounds, and The Royal Burgh of Selkirk in the autumnal light as the trees change colour.
The Haining is a country house and estate in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. The present house dates from the 1790s, The Haining Charitable Trust, which manages the estate for the benefit of the people of Selkirkshire and the wider public. The Haining Charitable Trust is now working on developing the building as a centre for exhibitions and events, highlighting art, culture and history.
The house is protected as a category A listed building, and the grounds are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens.

WOW, Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday, celebrating my 40th Anniversary of being 21!
I feel so humbled by the amount of comments and messages, even if Norma Graham managed a silly picture of me from the trip to Marrakesh. Amazing gifts and a truly delightful meal BurtsTownHouse Melrose.

A small edited selection from my trip to Silverstone recently for the ELMS Series, returning to the UK, after a 6-year gap. Some great on-track action and a chance to work in the pit lane again, not as toasty as Barcelona, and the rain made it interesting...
Shooting with the Fujifilm X-H2S & X-H2 with the usual lenses, XF200/2, XF50-14/2.8, and the XF150-600.

A day off yesterday and a wee drive over to Glasgow, forgot to lift the camera that had been prepped the night before (Fujifilm X-H2 c/w 23/1.4) for some nice walk about images, so it all went down to the mobile phone, not bad for an old series 12 iPhone Pro.
