The Met Office has issued further yellow weather warnings for today and over the weekend.

A warning for snow and ice is in place until 3pm tomorrow.

A second warning for snow and ice covering most of North Yorkshire is in place from 2am on Sunday until 3pm on Sunday.

🎞️ When folk musician Herb McGwyer (Tom Basden) arrives on the remote, sea-swept Wallis Island, he believes he’s coming to play an intimate gig for a few fans. In reality, the concert is for one man: Charles (Tim Key). Charles is a two-time lottery winner living on an English estate, and he’s a massive fan of Herb’s former folk duo: McGwyer & Mortimer. He owns their guitars, press clippings, and a few other items. As you’d expect, his fandom makes Herb queasy. Nevertheless, the growth of their awkward friendship massages the sweet pulse of this delightful film.

A new strength training class for women every Monday at Langcliffe Village Institute πŸ‘‡

This from Jo Wulf - β€œWith much pestering and encouragement from my friends (as we are all at that age where we know we need this!), Jo Wulf offering a new strength training class. A qualified gym instructor, she recognises that not everyone wants to be in a gym environment - I am one oAnd yet, we all know that it's time to start paying more attention to our bodies. Start now and stay strong for life! I coach many older adults well into their 80s and 90s and see how what they did in their 50s and 60s benefits them today. So, if you want to give this quiet, small, friendly class a go, just bring yourself and a yoga mat along to the very lovely, warm, tucked away Langcliffe Village Institute and let's start 2026 with some muscle training! And I promise, no pull-ups, press-ups or heavy weights! Just achievable exercises with adaptations to suit every level. Any questions - please don't hesitate to get in touch!”
