In the Mayor's latest blog, he talks about books, bikes and being blindfolded through Sevenoaks - three inspiring events.

Last Wednesday, he attended Sevenoaks Literary Festival, Ride the Change departed from the Vine on Thursday, and then the Mayor took part in an initiative from Guide Dogs.

We appreciate it takes a bit of time to go through the plan, so you may find it easier to look at the information boards here: rb.gy/8yxtue . These set out the key points being considered - they will give you an overview before you complete our survey.

We look forward to seeing your feedback on this vision to take our town centre into the future.

We are so pleased to welcome Lilia's Kitchen to Café at the Station at Bat & Ball from tomorrow, 1st October.

Lilia’s Kitchen has teamed up with Tom from Crave the Crunch to bring you irresistible pastries and bread fresh from the oven. Perfect with your morning coffee, or to take away on your commute.

Lilia serves café classics, along with Malagasy dishes - a blend of French, African, Indian, and Malaysian influences.

In Madagascar, food is at the heart of family life, and from a young age, Lilia learned to cook with her grandmother. That early passion grew into a lifelong love of creating dishes that bring people together.

Come along to Bat & Ball Station and try her delicious food!

Would you like to help out with knitting some poppies for Remembrance Day?

In previous years, Sevenoaks has displayed knitted red poppies (and purple poppies in remembrance of animals) around the Vine, leading up to Remembrance Day. We welcome any donations of these for this year's display.

The knitting pattern is below:
Cast on 60 stitches. Work 8 rows in Knit 2, Purl 2.
Next row - knit 2 together, repeat until end.
Next row – slip 2 stitches, knit 1, pass over.
Pass wool through remaining stitches, pull and fasten.
Sew a black button or embroider with black or green thread in the centre.

Did you know that you can adopt a tree in Sevenoaks for your family, yourself, a birthday present, anniversary or in memory of a loved one?

The best months for planting trees are December and January. So that we can plant new trees during this time, our deadline for applications is 30th September.

Your gift of a tree will help improve air quality, provide homes for wildlife and food for insects, and of course they look beautiful!

Your tree can be planted at one of several parks in Sevenoaks.

For more information, see our website: https://www.sevenoakstown.gov.uk/Adopt_a_Tree_Scheme_45733.aspx
