2025 FIM Long Track World Championship Final Four, Speed Centre Roden 🇳🇱 , Sunday 21st September, 2:00pm CET (1:00pm UK time).

THE DESTINY of the FIM Long Track World Championship will be decided this afternoon at Speed Centre Roden in the Netherlands, with three riders still in contention for the title.

Last year the Dutch saw Martin Smolinski spark huge celebrations as he lifted his second consecutive World Championship and his third in all (see video), but he will not be making it a fourth crown as he has withdrawn from this year's finale due to injuries sustained in Final Three at Scheeßel. This leaves fellow German Lukas Fienhage, who won the Grand Final at Roden last season, as the title favourite, but he is just two points clear of Zach Wajtknecht whose fellow Brit Chris Harris is just two points further back - and the Brits are in top form having won the Long Track of Nations title alongside Andrew Appleton last weekend at Vechta. It will certainly be a nail-biting contest between this trio to see who will take the World title.

Elsewhere home honour for the Netherlands is upheld by Dave Meijerink and Mika Meijer along with Romano Hummel who returns to World Championship action as the wild card, while European Grass Track Champion Kenneth Hansen is joined by fellow Dane Patrick Kruse who makes his debut at World level. Tero Aarnio adds further Scandinavian flavour, and new Under-23 World Cup Champion Timo Wachs is also among the entry.

Follow the action LIVE on Tapes Up TV - racing begins at 2pm CET (1pm UK time).

FIM Long Track of Nations, Reiterwaldstadion Vechta 🇩🇪 , Saturday 13th September, 7:30pm CET (6:30pm UK time).

SEVEN NATIONS face off in Germany this evening as the battle to be crowned the leading nation in international Long Track racing commences at Vechta.

Last year at Morizès it was Germany who came out on top to win the title for a remarkable tenth time defeating hosts France in the Final, but this time around only Lukas Fienhage remains from that victorious side. With Erik Riss and Martin Smolinski absent, the home track hero is joined by the vastly experienced Stephan Katt and Jörg Tebbe plus newcomer Mario Niedermeier.

Last year's beaten finalists France are led by Mathias Trésarrieu and Jordan Dubernard who recently booked their places in next year's FIM Long Track World Championship, as did Patrick Kruse who lines up for Denmark alongside European Grass Track Champion Kenneth Hansen.

Great Britain track their regular trio of Chris Harris, Zach Wajtknecht and Andrew Appleton, while Romano Hummel leads the Dutch attack alongside World Long Track regulars Dave Meijerink and Mika Meijer and Tero Aarnio heads Finland's challenge after a good performance in the recent World Championship round at Scheeßel. The Czech Republic complete the field, headed by the experienced Hynek Stichauer and Jan Macek while Jan Hlacina warmed up with a fine showing in last night's Under-23 World Cup, won by Germany's Timo Wachs.

Follow the action LIVE on Tapes Up TV - tapes go up on Heat One at 7:30pm CET (6:30pm local time).

😍 Vechta 🇩🇪 hosts 2025 FIM Long Track of Nations

Teams from across Europe will go into battle this coming Saturday (13 September) when the 2025 FIM Long Track of Nations (LToN) powered by Anlas, Kineo and HKC Koopmann is staged at Vechta in north-west Germany.

The day after the sport’s brightest young stars are due to go head-to-head in the third edition of the FIM Long Track Under 23 World Cup, action in the outdoor Reiterwaldstadion Vechta will resume with riders from seven nations coming together to determine which country has the right to call itself the sport’s undisputed number one for the next twelve months.

The competition was dominated last season by ten-time winners Germany, but the reigning champions are fielding a dramatically different team this time around with only Lukas Fienhage from their victorious 2024 side returning to defend the title in front of a home crowd.

Fienhage has the honour of being team Captain and has been in fantastic form this season. Currently leading the FIM Long Track World Championship with one round remaining, the three-time LToN winner is joined in the side by the hugely experienced pairing of Jörg Tebbe and Stephan Katt – both multi-time LToN champions – and Mario Niedermeier who is making his debut in the competition.

Runners up last year and champions in 2018 and again in 2019 when the event was last staged at Vechta, the French side features two changes to the team that won silver on home ground in Morizès in 2024 with Captain Mathias Trésarrieu and Jordan Dubernard – who finished first and second in the FIM Long Track Challenge earlier this month – returning for another attempt at the title alongside Tino Bouin and Anthony Chauffour.

Great Britain, champions in 2015, finished third last season and for 2025 field an almost unchanged line-up. Captained by Chris Harris who will once again be joined by Zach Wajtknecht and veteran Andrew Appleton, the British quartet is completed by exciting young racer Cameron Taylor.
Finland have never won the LToN and field an unchanged team from last year, led by forty-one-year-old Captain Tero Aarnio with support from Henri Ahlbom and Jesse Mustonen, while their near neighbours Denmark combine experience with youth with Kenneth Kruse Hansen as Captain alongside Jacob Bukhave and seventeen-year-old sensation Patrick Kruse.

With their best-ever finish of second coming in 2022, the last time the event was staged in Germany, the Czech Republic were fifth last season and are once again represented by Jan Macek, Daniel Klima and Captain Hynek Stichauer who will be joined in Vechta by Jan Hlacina.

The only other nation in action that have won the LToN, the Netherlands – champions in 2013, 2016 and 2023 – struggled last season, but this year return with three of the four riders who took the title on home ground two years ago in Roden.

Captained by Mika Meijer, the only returning rider from 2024, the powerful Dutch team also features Romano Hummel – the 2021 FIM Long Track World Champion – and Dave Meijerink, who both helped their country to gold in 2022 alongside Meijer, as well as talented newcomer William Kruit.

The action in the Reiterwaldstadion Vechta is scheduled to get under way at 19:30 (local time).

Taking the FIM Long Track World Championship powered by Anlas, Kineo and HKC Koopmann to a global audience, FIM-MOTO.TV is streaming all rounds LIVE including behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and expert analysis with a season pass covering all four rounds as well as the FIM Long Track of Nations and FIM Long Track U23 World Cup priced at €34.90. A One Event Pass is priced at €8.90 and available exclusively on TapesUP TV.

FIM Under-23 Long Track World Cup, Reiterwaldstadion Vechta 🇩🇪 , Friday 12th September 2025, 7:00pm CET (6:00pm UK time).

IT'S RACE DAY in Germany as the cream of young Long Track and Grass Track talent gathers at Vechta in Germany for the third annual FIM Under-23 World Cup.

Fifteen riders from six nations go for glory on the 535-metre oval, and with title holder Jake Mulford of Great Britain absent due to SGP2 commitments in Denmark a new Champion is guaranteed.

No fewer than nine riders return having contested last year’s Championship here at Vechta, including Tino Bouin and Timo Wachs who have both appeared in the senior FIM Long Track World Championship this year, but favourite for honours is likely to be Denmark’s Patrick Kruse (pictured), the 17-year old having recently finished third in the FIM Long Track Challenge at Morizes to qualify for next year’s World Championship.

Théo Ugoni will also be one to watch after finishing on the podium in this event two years ago, while Dutchman Jeffrey Sijbesma is also an ever-present in the three stagings of the World Cup and Frenchman Noah Urda is a former FIM Youth Gold Trophy winner.

Follow the action LIVE on Tapes Up TV this evening - tapes go up on Heat One at around 7pm CET (6pm UK time).

Redcar Bears Speedway vs Workington Comets, Cab Direct Championship, Friday 5th September.

IT'S RACE DAY at the ECCO Arena as the Redcar Agilia Bears look to complete their regular Championship League season with a victory over Northern rivals Workington Comets.

The Bears have already cemented their place in the League play-offs, while Workington must take maximum points from all three fixtures in order to leapfrog Edinburgh and squeeze into the top four.

Redcar boss Gavin Parr said: "The guys have built the momentum with six wins on the bounce so we don’t want to throw that away as it’s important to have positive momentum heading into the most vital part of the season. Also though, it’s even more important that we come out of tomorrow’s meeting with the side still fit and raring to go.”

The Bears have booked Scunthorpe's Jake Allen as a guest for Erik Riss just a couple of weeks after his controversial altercation with Charles Wright when the Scorpions visited the ECCO Arena, while Berwick's Sam Hagon comes in for Jody Scott who is on international duty. Workington meanwhile are at full strength, with experienced Aussie Troy Batchelor leading the side alongside exciting prospect Tate Zischke and Finnish international Antti Vuolas.

2025 FIM Long Track World Championship, Final Three, Scheeßel , Sunday 24th August, 1:30pm CET (12:30pm UK time).

IT'S RACE DAY in Germany as the FIM Long Track World Championship descends on Northern Germany and the ultra-fast Eichenring circuit in Scheeßel for the third Final of the 2025 season.

So far this year we have enjoyed two great meetings with defending Champion Martin Smolinski tasting success on home turf at Muhldorf, before British star Zach Wajtknecht took a fine victory at Marmande in France (see video) to take the lead of the Championship at the halfway stage.

Fifteen riders go into battle at Scheeßel with Smolinski and fellow countryman Lukas Fienhage looking to close down Wajtknecht at the top, but two other leading German stars are absent. Muhldorf finalist Daniel Spiller suffered multiple injuries in a major crash at the Bad Hersfeld long track earlier this month, while Erik Riss is again absent through illness. Dutchman William Kruit and Brit Jake Mulford will deputise for them, while Jordan Dubernard again replaces the injured Henry van der Steen.

Denmark's Kenneth Hansen will be worth watching for having recently won the European Grass Track title at Eenrum in the Netherlands, while Chris Harris and Andrew Appleton again spearhead the British challenge alongside Wajtknecht and Mathias Trésarrieu should be the leading French rider. Dave Meijerink was meanwhile runner-up to Hansen at Eenrum, and he and Mika Meijer head the Dutch challenge.

Follow the action LIVE on Tapes Up TV - Heat One gets under way at around 1:30pm local time (12:30pm UK time).

2025 FIM European Under-19 Speedway Championship, Grudziadz 🇵🇱 , Saturday 23rd August, 6:00pm CET (5:00pm UK time).

IT'S RACE DAY in Poland as sixteen teenage stars of Speedway go into battle at Grudziadz to contest the FIM European Under-19 Championship.

Last year Ukraine's Nazar Parnitskyi took the title, and although he won his semi-final this time around to qualify for today's event, he will not take his place due to a clash with the senior European Championships, leaving the door open for a new Champion to be crowned.

Host nation Poland boasts seven of the qualifiers and the likes of home track hero Kevin Malkiewicz, Bronze Helmet champion Franciszek Karczewski and the relatively experienced Oskar Paluch will be among the favourites for the title, but Czech star Adam Bednar could well be the man to beat given his mightily impressive form across Europe this season. Danish duo Villads Nagel and Mikkel Andersen will also be very strong contenders, while Rasmus Karlsson recently took the Swedish Under-21 title. Finland, Norway, Latvia and Hungary are also represented across the entry.
