Closure of Hospital Radio Swale
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Hospital Radio Swale, which will officially cease broadcasting on 1st August 2025.
For 50 years, our station has proudly served the patients, staff, and visitors of Sheppey Community Hospital and Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, bringing comfort, companionship, and entertainment to the bedside. It has been our honour to be a part of so many people’s lives—celebrating milestones, offering company during difficult times, and sharing the joy of music and conversation.
This difficult decision has not been made lightly. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed over the years—our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, hospital staff, and, most importantly, our listeners.
While our microphones may be turning off, the memories and impact of Hospital Radio Swale will live on. We hope the spirit of what we created together continues in new forms and future projects within the hospital and beyond.
