🎉 HUGE LOCAL NEWS! 🎉

The Steel Valley Project is celebrating a major milestone with the purchase of Stone D**e Wood, a beautiful 2.73-acre woodland near Grenoside in South Yorkshire.

This is the first land purchase in the charity’s 38-year history, securing an important natural space for wildlife and local communities for generations to come. Stone D**e Wood is a secluded haven with tranquil oak glades, a small stream, and rich ancient woodland flora. It also sits within the vast woodland complex that includes Wharncliffe Woods and Greno Woods, strengthening biodiversity across the northern edge of Sheffield.

A massive thank you to the Craik family, whose generous support made this acquisition possible!

Over 700 people have signed a petition opposing plans to close three Sheffield ambulance stations in Middlewood, Batemoor and Longley, replacing them with a single “super station” in Attercliffe.

The plans for the new 'Superstation' were first announced in a report to Sheffield City Council in January 2025 and are set to happen across the next four years.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service say the move to one station will mean ambulances will spend less time being unavailable.

Whilst the Sheffield Liberal Democrats who launched the petition are asking that Yorkshire Ambulance Service hold public meetings before any final decisions are made.
