What a gorgeous show on Sunday at Harlequin Pub

We raised £347 for Medical Aid for Palestinians

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Sheffield PSC for coming and helping with the event and for their incredible speeches.
If you'd like to get more involved locally here's their event list

Also, join them for their weekly Palestine demo outside Sheffield station from 5.

Finally I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the musicians for giving their time to make such a special night! Maskareen Kyth and Ananya WB

This is our first Sheffield show as a label.

We're starting a monthly night at Harlequin Pub
So we wanted to begin with a really important show raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians
All money from the show goes directly to MAP.

We've got an incredible line up for you, we're feeling very blessed! Maskareen Ananya WB and Kyth

Also, they'll be a raffle raising even more money and they'll be some juicy prizes.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined the POLR team in recent months and who have worked to make this event possible. We'll be sharing more about the new team soon. Also, if you want to join the team just get in touch with us.

Hello everyone, Pear O'Legs is looking for people who want to get involved in helping make it a more inclusive, community focused label that can keep releasing great music!

POLR has been working as a not-for-profit volunteer led CIC for about 6 years now, it's had a tiny team and often a one-person team. This isn't sustainable, but also isn't much fun either. We (I) want to work with other people, I want to take a bit of a back seat, I want to pass on some of my knowledge, but mostly I want to make sure that this label can keep helping musicians, especially those that really need it who aren't well represented by the music industry as well as being able to keep releasing amazing music for you all to enjoy.

If you like the sound of this then we're going to meet up in Sheffield to discuss ideas and commit to some future plans. You don't need to be based in Sheffield to be involved, but having people locally is a big bonus.

Just get in touch via email or socials (and tell your friends).

Currently possible ideas for the label include; a monthly music night in Sheffield, monthly songwriting club, youth engagement and mentoring as well as finding some of those pesky syncing opportunities. But I'm open to any and all ideas!

The brilliant Adam Beattie is running a crowdfunder for his new album. It can be so hard to survive as an independent musician these days and it's so important that we can support artists so they can continue making beautiful music that will move and inspire us. Go and pre-order a copy!

'Home Fires Burning' will be my 6th studio album and it explores family, childhood and home. | Check out 'Can you help me record my new album?' on Indiegogo.

So Pear O'Legs has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while so I'm asking for some help to get it going again.

I've been blessed with this gorgeous little person, but Bo hasn't been well. He has a rare condition called nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, which means that his kidneys can't concentrate urine, so he gets dehydrated really easily. This means he's needed pretty much round the clock feeding for the last 10 months.
This is a long term condition and so Bo is going to need more care and support from me. Becoming a parent was always going to be tough to juggle alongside music, but I now think it's going to be impossible for me to run the label on my own (I always wanted to do it with other people anyway).
So, I'm going to probably be stepping back a bit, but I'd love to keep this not-for-profit going so it can continue to support musicians. I've finally settled in one place, Sheffield! So I think all of this means this could be a chance for the label to be more community focused and to improve its inclusivity.

So, if you, or someone you know is interested in volunteering time to help the label continue to do its thing, please get in touch, especially if you're based in or near to Sheffield. We are completely volunteer run, we work closely with our musicians to release their record the way they want and we help fund it with any profit the label gets from other releases, plus often out of my own pocket.

Skills are a plus but enthusiasm and consistency are the most important.

Activities/skills needed

- Running a regular music night, booking acts, running the door, promoting the show etc
-A&R / outreach
- Graphic design (gig posters, album art, merch design)
-Music video creation
- Songwriting and/or arrangement
- Music production
- Music marketing
- Release campaign organising
- Radio and press promotion
- Social media and playlisting
- Sync and publishing
- Tour booking
- Band management

I don't really know what POLR is going to look like in the future, but what I'd love is a big group of people who work together to support musicians, while getting to enjoy amazing shows and hanging out together.

Reminiscing our a spectacular, ludicrous and strangely moving show from Loose T. at The Harrison in June.

If you've not heard Loose T.'s EP yet, where have you been?
