We’ve partnered with Lucas Jedrzejak of Bison Grass Films to deliver this fantastic all-inclusive documentary summer school running over 8 days in July. Lucas is a multi award-winning documentary film-maker and a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

Another Great session with Goons Production & Sheffield Futures for their young filmmaker course!
Last week the young filmmakers spent Saturday brainstorming ideas for their short films and meticulously planning every aspect of pre-production.

It was a pleasure to host Goons Production in partnership with Sheffield Futures which is a Sheffield-based charity working on providing young people with support and employment opportunities.

The Kurious hosted the first meeting of the 8-week program, where 16 young filmmakers aged 18-25 from challenging backgrounds are provided an opportunity to produce and screen a short film.

It's an intensive course with sessions every Saturday where the filmmakers are provided with a sandbox to experiment and learn the fundamentals of film production, with a screening at the showroom cinema to look forward to at the end, in addition to industry talks and employment support + mentoring by Sheffield Futures on completion of the course.

We can't wait to see what these young filmmakers create!

Recently, we had filmmakers come to the Kurious studios to pitch their film ideas to a board of panellists, the filmmakers had a chance to look around the facilities; the post-production studios, sound studios and co-working space.
