Supertram Service Changes: Track Upgrade Works Underway
Improvement works on South Yorkshire Supertram network are underway, with some services replaced by buses and temporary timetable changes in place.
From now until 15 August, essential track replacement and resurfacing works will affect parts of the blue and purple routes, particularly between Manor Top and Hollinsend. Several stops, including Granville Road, Park Grange, Spring Lane, and Herdings Park, will be out of use during this period.
There will be no purple route trams while works take place. A replacement bus service will run every 15 minutes between Fitzalan Square and Herdings Park, calling at all affected stops. On the blue route, trams will run between Halfway and Gleadless Townend every 15 minutes.
These upgrades are part of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority's Β£110m investment in the network by 2027, aiming to improve safety, reliability, and future service.
A spokesperson said the summer timing aims to minimise disruption to passengers and road users.
