DEF LEPPARD ARE COMING HOME (AND ALSO TO MANCHESTER) 🤘

Feels like the Sheffield Lads have just come off tour, but Def Leppard have annouced a huge gig playing all around Europe and of course stopping off in the UK.

Known for their classic hits ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’, ‘Love Bites’, and many more, you’re not going to want to miss out on these summer shows. Especially after the sights we saw back in November 2023 with Motley Crew. 😮‍💨

What we ate this month in Sheffield… 🍔

If you couldn’t already tell, we’ve been fully in our pistachio era in August, from dreamy tiramisu at the brand-new Paradiso Artisan Tiramisù site in Sharrow Vale, to pistachio lattes and ice cream at Caffe Tucci, heaven.

We tucked into a whole load of curries at House of Biryani and dug into cheesy pasta goodness at Renata inside Cambridge Street Collective

Kapital Sheffield kept us fuelled with karaage schnitzel and bratwurst, while Press n Sip gave Erewhon a run for their money with those gorgeous smoothies and banana pudding.

And because we’re greedy, we tried the whole menu at Popeyes new store on The Moor, and Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries dropped a brand new crispy chicken range. 🍗

Motore Café brought out some wonderful summer specials, and Beres was there for us in a time of need after one too many the night before... 🫣

Safe to say we’re full to the brim. But don’t worry, we’re already scouting where to eat in September. Let us know where we should check out next. 🍴

YOU’LL HAVE TO FLOAT ALONG TO THIS ONE…

Float Along Festival is back in Sheffield this September, returning bigger and better than ever with an expanded lineup of venues across the city. 🎶

This year’s edition takes over some of Sheffield’s most iconic spots from Foundry, Corop, Sidney and Matilda alongside exciting new additions like the Hallamshire Hotel and The Washington joining the roster.

The mission? To shine a light on emerging talent. This year's programme features spoken word artist Antony Szmierek, country duo Big Special, and Westside Cowboy, who’ve even scooped up Glastonbury's emerging talent competition in the past. 🎤

Expect late-night DJ sets, plenty of live performances, and even a special festival collab beer brewed with Triple Point Brewwery 🍻

Trading dodgy Pokémon cards at school, photocopying your own zine, or stumbling across a buggy fan-made game - all those little ‘fakes’ were often the most fun back in the day, and now you can revel in all the nostalgia.

That spirit is at the heart of Fake Fans, the new exhibition at Sheffield’s Site Gallery. Instead of knock-offs being simply copies, here they’re celebrated as bold remixes bootlegs, fan art, and DIY culture reworked into something fresh, chaotic, and full of imagination.

Running until 14 September 2025, it’s a space where nostalgia meets creativity, and imitation turns into innovation.
