A couple of weeks ago, three blokes who’d never met before happened to turn up at the Shed on the same day. At first, they sat quiet, each wondering if they’d done the right thing coming along. But within half an hour, they were swapping stories over a brew, teasing each other about football teams, and helping each other with a project on the workbench. By the end of the session, the laughter was louder than the tools, and you’d have thought they’d been mates for years.

That’s the magic of Men in Sheds – you walk in a stranger, but before long you’re part of the team.

If you’re living with anxiety, feeling unsure about coming down, or just needing a place where you can breathe and be yourself, we get it. Taking that first step through the door is the hardest part – but once you do, you’ll find friendly faces, a good laugh, and a place where you belong.

Come and join us – you don’t have to do it alone.

You can find us down at Unit 3, 74 Manchester Road, Deepcar! ( behind the garage) or online at https://steelershealers.org.uk/ ! By phoning
07990 299161 or emailing [email protected] ! We are open Wednesday all day and Thursday evenings 3:30pm to 8:00pm.

It's fine for people to have fun and enjoy the wonderful village but can people be mindful of their behaviour and the environment. Everyone should be able to enjoy these facilities and the hard work that goes with it to keep the village a nice, safe and clean place to live.

Following on from Mr Crowley's sterling work in highlighting the safety concerns to Sheffield City Council regarding the ever present dangers to pedestrians and cyclists passing over the narrow bridge, we have agreed today to set up this social media page to centralise the thoughts, feelings and ideas about the dangers for people crossing the bridge. After a meeting today with Mr Male from Sheffield City Council, he has asked for the thoughts and concerns of local residents, local business, drivers, pedestrians and cyclists who use Jawbone Hill (Oughtibridge Lane), in order to assess the strength of feeling. Then SCC will consider taking action to prevent death or serious injury.
Personally, I use the bridge many times every day, and have witnessed near misses with vehicles and pedestrians, even sometimes parents with children.
This is the only route into Wharncliffe Woods, after the Station Lane access was blocked, which is used by walkers, dog walkers, mountain bikers, runners etc....but they have to cross the bridge and run the gauntlet of avoiding fast moving traffic in a very narrow space.
Please like, share and feel free to comment on your thoughts, and constructive ideas on how to solve the problem. This is the only way we will get the local authority to take notice and help.
Mr Cowley and the supporters will process the information from this page and in turn, submit this to the council at a future road safety meeting.

Guys I have to be honest, I’m feeling pig sick today.

If you have seen my stories you will know my neighbour, and the people I share the building with were broken into last night. They literally smashed through the wall to get in.

It’s so utterly unfair that small businesses like ours are targeted. When I got broken into recently it cost me hundreds to fix the damage and it will for Natalie too. We are having to get the front of the shops boarded up at further cost.

This is money we don’t have and shouldn’t have to spend just to feel safe in our own community. It’s not fair.

In nicer news ones it’s boarded up I will be looking for someone who might want to paint the wood? Anyone interested?
