30 years ago something very special began. A small backstreet club in Sheffield called Nimmos changed its name into what would become an underground phenomenon.
A club that held legendary status all across the UK.
That name was NICHE!
Owned & built by the legendary STEVE BAXENDALE, the venue shaped the way of the underground House & Speed Garage scene that saw clubbers from far and wide queue all the way down Sidney Street just to get inside.
Year after year it became bigger & bigger. With loyal resident DJ’s that gave everything to make sure it stayed at the forefront of underground music.
Legendary staff & security that everyone remembers just as much as the DJ’s for the jobs they did!
Not forgetting you lot.. the customers, the ravers, the hundreds of thousands of you that stepped through those doors!
It was a family, it was a community, it was our NICHE❤️
The place became more and more legendary and by the years 2004/2005 it grew into a machine.
A machine that would ultimately be the driving force of the huge Bassline scene that was just around the corner.
Who would’ve thought of the impact such a small unique backstreet club could’ve had 30 years on.
A club that defined generations of people and the music they would listen to.
A club that gave birth to BASSLINE.
After TWO NUMBER ONE GOLD selling SOUND OF BASSLINE albums that did almost 300,000 copies between them.🥇🥇
