🧗 Great Western – Almscliff

Rockfax Description: Perhaps Almscliff's most famous classic. The steep corner leads to the roof and a large spike, traverse left into an exposed position and pull into a short crack with difficulty (hidden holds?). From a rest on the uncomfortable pedestal, finish up a short crack on the left or, MUCH better, head right up the jamming crack on Western Front - the icing on the cake. Be aware of rope drag problems

📍 Brimham Rocks – Now on Rockfax Digital

Brimham Rocks has been added to both the Yorkshire Bouldering and Northern England packages on Rockfax Digital. This large, spread-out crag is known for its dramatic pinnacles, hidden edges, and a wide mix of climbing across the hillside.

The area offers everything from delicate technical climbing to full-body offwidths, with a mix of routes and extensive bouldering both near the car park and scattered around the edges and pinnacles. Its complex layout means there’s plenty to explore, from quiet corners to well-known classics.

📍 Crag Spotlight – Dumbarton Rock

Dumbarton Rock is now included in the Scottish Mountaineering Club's Lowland Outcrops package on Rockfax Digital.

Steeped in the history of hard climbing, “Dumby” offers a mix of trad, sport, and some of the most iconic bouldering in the country — all on a single volcanic outcrop above the Clyde.

The new coverage includes clear topos for the main faces and boulders, along with the classic test-pieces the crag is known for. The quick-drying rock makes it a dependable venue for shorter sessions, whether you’re local to the area or passing through on the way to the Highlands.

📍 Barden Fell added to Yorkshire Bouldering

The Barden Fell area is now live in the Yorkshire Bouldering package on Rockfax Digital. This update covers the moorland crags around Simon’s Seat, Lord’s Seat, Earl’s Seat and the Hen Stones, offering stunning bouldering on compact light grey gritstone in a remote, scenic setting.

Coverage around Simon’s Seat has also been expanded, with more routes added and the bouldering now listed separately for easier navigation.
