🔩 Giving Back to the Crags We Cover 🧗‍♂️

We’re happy to announce that Rockfax has just made a round of significant donations to bolt funds and bolting efforts in areas we cover — including South Wales, Dorset, Cumbria, North Wales, El Chorro, and more.

In the Peak area, we’ve purchased a full bolting kit and supported bolting work, particularly at Horseshoe Quarry.

In Sicily, a new climbing shop and bunkhouse called SV Climbing has been set up. Marco, who runs the place, got in touch about stocking the guide. We’ve arranged for him to sell copies, with all profits — including ours — going directly to local bolting efforts.

Funds for these contributions come from printed guidebook sales and usage of covered areas on Rockfax Digital. If you're based in an area we cover and would like to explore how we can help, please get in touch.

Hot on the heels of Caley, we've just added Crookrise to the Yorkshire Bouldering guide on Rockfax Digital!

🧐 Why Crookrise Should Be on Your Radar:
A firm favourite for after-work sessions, Crookrise is one of Yorkshire’s top gritstone venues. The approach might be a bit of a slog, but once you're there, you'll find a spread of steep buttresses packed with character. The best problems are dotted along the crag, so expect a bit of exploring to find the real gems.

☀️ Facing southwest, the crag gets sun from midday and dries quickly. It’s a solid winter option too—just keep an eye on the wind.

South Wales Sport climbs has had a major update to the 2016 edition and covers all the sport climbing developments across South Wales including Carmarthen, Gower, Inland and Coastal Limestone and the great sandstone quarries of the Valleys. The book covers over 950 more routes than the previous edition including 9 new crags. That is nearly 2700 routes in total! The majority of the crags have been re-photographed and there is a full new set of maps and mostly new action photos.
