DISCOVER THE BIRDS OF GRAVES PARK

Join the South Yorkshire Biodiversity Research Group for a winter bird roost walk searching for flocks of birds such as blue t**s, great t**s, wagtails, kestrels, jackdaws, woodpeckers and more.
Professor Ian Rotherham with colleagues Karon Mayor and Christine Handley will be leading the beginner friendly walk in Graves Park on Sunday, 30th November.
Walkers are asked to meet at 2pm by the Rose Garden Café.

BLUE PLAQUE UNVEILED

Heron Publications was delighted to sponsor a Blue Plaque unveiled to mark the birthplace of one of England’s most famous footballers - goalkeeper Gordon Banks.
A ceremony took place at the former Arthur Road, off Sheffield’s Abbeydale Road, and those attending included Gordon’s son Rob and daughters Julia and Wendy, together with nephew Nick Banks of the band Pulp. They were joined by the Lord Mayor Coun Safiya Saeed, former Sports Minister Richard Caborn, Tony Currie and many others.
Andy Kershaw of the Sheffield Home of Football organisation said this was the 11th plaque installed in the city to highlight Sheffield’s football heritage.
