CPU Micron is a schematic-accurate software emulation of the analogue synthesiser voice from Roland’s 1983 MC‑202, developed by Central Processing Unit. Every value in its DSP is derived from the original circuit diagram and the real component values - the CEM3340 oscillator, the IR3109 filter, the discrete ADSR and LFO - and cross-checked against the manufacturer’s own service-manual calibration steps and a working hardware unit. The result is a faithful recreation of a defining acid and electro bass voice, wrapped in a hardware exact control panel and delivered as a VST3, Audio Unit and standalone instrument for macOS, Windows and Linux.

Five panel finishes - four more than Roland ever made. The original came in grey and only grey. The sibling it is most often mistaken for came in grey, blue and red and that mix-up has quietly given this machine a colour history it never had. CPU Micron ships those three anyway, plus a black one and a fifth in CPU’s own white and black.
