With the tragic crash of the Bell 206 in the Hudson River, I'm looking back to my only time flying a helicopter which was the same type, a Bell 206. across central London. Mast bumping was something that was mentioned in the preflight, as was the importance of maintenance, especially the Jesus nut.

I am not a qualified helicopter pilot, so I am not going to try to comment on the causes, but my heart does go out to the victims and their families.
