The Orenstein & The Wolf

During the Tinkers Park Steam Rally, Orenstein & Koppel No.28 'Sao Domingos' top and tailed throughout the day with Motorrail 4wDM No.25 'Wolf' along the Great Bush narrow gauge railway..

Built only 12 years apart, Sao Domingos worked at the Douro Vally coal mines in Portugal whilst Wolf is a local boy having worked in the Ham Marsh Gravel Pits in Faversham!

A Chorus Of Whistles!

Over the weekend Tinkers Park held its 60th Annual Steam Rally with a large number of Traction engines and Steam rollers both big and small in attendance..

Once all vehicles had paraded and made their way into the arena all engines are invited to erupt with a chorus of whistles and boy oh boy is it a sight.. not so easy for the ears though..

New video out now now and this week we visit the Tinkers Park - Home to the Claude Jessett Collection Steam Rally for their 60th annual show..

So many traction engines and rollers were on display as well as a number of miniatures, lister engines, tractors and more. Also on site is the great bush narrow gauge railway ferrying passenger around the site with great views around the whole event..

Over all a fantastic show and one highly recommended for the diary next year! 👌

The Ancient Monument!

Situated outside The Old Brook Pumping Station, is a roller often overlooked..

This Aveling Barford Type Q Diesel Roller was originally a piece of children's playing equipment at the playing field at darnley road in 1969.
Come 1989 health and safety took over and so the roller was doomed and heading for the scrapyard!

Come 1989 the roller was saved and moved to the brook pumping station where a 6 year restoration programme began.
Now this 13 ton beast is in fully working order but due to its size, is rarely taken out.. hopefully one day!

A Lamborgini Tractor!?

Did you know, Before Ferruccio Lamborghini built his famous supercars, he made his fortune manufacturing farm machinery.

This little stunner is a 1964 Lamborgini 1R Tractor on show today at the Cuckoo Spring Fayre and was definately the standout of the show!

Powered by a 1.5 twin cylinder diesel engine and four speed manual transmission, it was the best selling Tractor model of the time.. easy to see why!
