Watch with sound ON!
We teamed up with our friends at Glimpse to produce this animation for The Climate Coalition to raise awareness of their campaign. The aim is to show decision makers that we want to see real and rapid action to tackle the climate and nature crisis - for the love of our families, our homes, our livelihoods and our planet. Please get involved and let's see green hearts everywhere this Februrary! Go to https://www.theclimatecoalition.org/show-the-love/ to get involved and download free resources.

Building on the success of our last project together, Refuge approached us to create a film highlighting technology abuse experienced by women. And in many ways, this project is the perfect illustration of why animation is such an effective tool in conveying complex ideas succinctly and in engaging ways.

Many women don’t know that technology is being used to harm, control and stalk them so showing real-life examples of different forms of tech abuse was an important way of alerting women to the potential that they are being unknowingly abused. These were often complex situations so needed a sensitive and nuanced creative approach to the storytelling.

We spent lots of time in the consultation and development phase of the project, working closely with various Refuge departments and staff, including communications, operations and the tech abuse team, to make sure the stories we were telling were the most relevant and easy to understand.

This development work was also shared with survivors of technology abuse and their input was included in the production process. Special care was taken to ensure the diversity of women affected by technology abuse was represented.

It was important to also represent technology in a positive light at the end of the animation, to show the women being able to enjoy connecting with friends and family.

This was a challenging task but we’re proud of the results and of our ongoing working relationship with the wonderful team at Refuge.

Here's what Lisa King, Director of communications and external relations at Refuge, has to say: The animation that Working Progress have created is true to the experience of so many women who experience tech abuse. It is helpful, engaging, warm, supportive and empowering and we really love it. Thanks so much for making this happen – and for your patience along the way.

Here we tell Charlotte's story of how her mental health was affected by her epilepsy diagnosis, and the incredible journey she's been on ever since.

Charlotte sought help and support from professionals, friends and family, which led to some amazing outcomes. Not only did she overcome one of her biggest fears - having seizures in front of people - she also graduated with a first class degree with honours.

She shares her story in the hope that others will be inspired to seek help and be able to live their lives to the fullest. Go Charlotte!

We created this animation for domestic abuse charity Refuge to show women what to expect when calling their Helpline.

Demand for the Helpline has soared this year with the pandemic and two lockdowns, so it's more important than ever that this message reaches women in need, who might want to call but are too scared.

We used a first person perspective to add emotion and to help the viewer connect to one person's experience. Script development was a collaborative effort with illustration, design and animation done in-house. Thanks to Emily Campbell and the fantastic team at Refuge, who gave us pretty much free reign on the creative - it was an absolute pleasure to work on this project with them.

Please share if you feel like you might know someone who needs to see it.
