Exclusive comedy night is coming to Shrewsbury in February - but tickets will be limited!

Sandro Ford is coming to Shrewsbury to develop his new material at a WIP show at The Loft at The Old Post Office on Wednesday 11th February 2026.

Known for his unique comedic approach, he delivers captivating performances that blend humour with dynamic, engaging narratives.

Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival announces first wave of next summer’s gala show acts.

Ignacio Lopez and Esther Manito are the first acts revealed as tickets go on sale for Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival's (SICFest) flagship gala show at Theatre Severn next summer.

The 2026 festival will offer performances at several venues throughout Shrewsbury culminating with the gala show on the evening of Sunday 12 July.

A festive Christmas Village and Santa’s Grotto have officially opened at on selected dates across December.

Starting Saturday 6 December, Santa and the Christmas Village arrive featuring cabins with a range of local businesses and signature Santa Grotto.

Breakfast with Santa can also be pre-booked for an extra special treat for breakfast, a Santa visit and a present.

The reviews are in for and their performance of Bouncers.

The Buttermarket provided the perfect venue for this comedic theatrical performance and presented with a combination of great acting and technical delivery.

"There was a great energy emitting from the stage as top performance after top performance was being delivered constantly and the audience were utterly engaged. There is so much in this play and SDC found every nuance, every gag, every chunk of pathos, it was all there, in this utterly marvellous performance."

Festive events plans have been announced by .

The festive fun begins with a Christmas Market at Love Plants, Salop Leisure’s a specialist plants centre, on the weekend of on December 6 and 7. More than 40 stalls are expected at the event, which will be open 10am to 4pm on both days.

For those looking to being the festivities at home early, freshly cut Nordmann Fir Christmas trees and potted varieties will be available from 22 November, with Love Plants donating £1 to the Severn Hospice for each one it sells.

The popular Twilight Trail will also be returning from 22 November.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival has released the first names on its 2026 bill following this year’s record-breaking event that saw a sell-out of weekend tickets weeks ahead of the August Bank Holiday festival.

The initial line-up promises an unmissable celebration of folk and roots music over the four-day festival from August 28th to August 31st with more headliners and artists still to be announced.

Leading the bill will be one of Britain’s most enduring songwriters and guitarists, Andy Fairweather Low with his band The Low Riders. Shrewsbury will also host the only 2026 festival show for Ferocious Dog featuring The Celtic Folk Orchestra as the band prepares to bow out of performing. Also appearing is acclaimed Irish singer Cara Dillon, whose pure voice and heartfelt songs have captivated audiences worldwide.

This December, at Telford Town Park is opening a new Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Village for the festive season.

Exotic Zoo’s Santa’s Grotto will be open from 11am – 4pm on selected dates in December.

A visit to the brand-new Santa’s Grotto includes a present for every child. Visitors can enjoy access to the whole zoo, with animals from around the world, and festive treats and seasonal food and drink in the Candy Cane Café. Tickets for the Grotto need to be pre-booked.

If you aren’t wishing to visit Santa’s Grotto, you can come to the zoo as normal without pre-booking.

The Christmas Village will be an evening experience from 4pm – 7pm with twinkling lights guiding visitors around the festive market stalls, and you can also see the twilight zoo animals. There will be carnival games for all ages, food and drink, and Santa will be in the Grotto.
