A historic farming estate in Ellesmere is opening its farm gates on June 8th for Open Farm Sunday.

Oteley Estate is a 2,000-acre farm with Beef Shorthorn and Highland cattle, sheep, and pigs, based on the shores of the eastern side of the mere. From 10am - 4pm, visitors can enter for free but encouraged to register in advance.

Dora the Dino and new arrivals return to Park Hall Countryside Experience this May half term.

From May 24th until June 1st, a range of prehistoric pals will be meeting visitors alongside the other popular farm animals.

“As well as meeting Dora, Dougie, and the baby dinos, you can dig for fossils, complete the Dino Egg Trail, and enjoy lots more dinosaur activities. It won’t just be the pigs racing around the outdoor play areas, our farm team will be competing in the daily dino race too!”

Park Hall Countryside Experience in Oswestry is hosting ‘Jurassic Week’ on the farm from May 24th until June 1st during half term.

It's been announce that this year the WR Davies Toyota Shrewsbury Regatta will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May 2025.

Races will take place on the River Severn in Shrewsbury between English Bridge and the boathouses opposite the Quarry.

The Carducci String Quartet is internationally acclaimed as one of the most accomplished and versatile ensembles of today.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival has released its complete 2025 line-up following the announcement of four new artists.

Providing an unrivalled variety of folk, Americana and world music over August Bank Holiday weekend along with a strong family focus as part of the programme, this is a not to be missed event.

The festival combines extensive programmes of music, dance, crafts, arts and more for children and teenagers. There is also more than 100 hours of programmed workshops, sessions and activities from music, dance, crafts, yoga, walks and more.
