If you’ve been thinking about creating an outdoor kitchen this year, now really is the time to start ✨

We planned ours for so long and so it would be ready for late summer to enjoy a few garden bbqs — and already it completely changed how we used our garden.

This summer is going to be just amazing. From cosy evenings under the pergola to BBQ nights with friends, this space has become the heart of our home 🖤

My biggest tip: think about layout, lighting and electrics and get it done before the warmer months arrive.

Save this if an outdoor kitchen is on your vision board for this year ☀️

Slatted fencing installation as part of our garden renovation 🌿

This 2 slatted fencing panes we’ve created so far have completely transformed our garden renovation and I’m honestly obsessed. How did we do it, We cut and painted every single slat before installation to make sure the finish was perfect and long-lasting.

Before fixing the slatted fence panels, we pinned up a black membrane behind the slats for durability, privacy and a clean backdrop. We also made a 10mm spacer to ensure the slats were evenly spaced throughout — those small details make such a difference in a DIY garden project.

One really important tip if you’re installing slatted fencing: you must use stainless steel nails to avoid rusting and ugly water marks running down the timber over time — especially in a UK garden.

At the base of the panel, we choose to add an extra layer of damp proof course to help protect the timber from moisture and extend the life of the fencing. Once the final slat went on, the panel was complete — the transformation is honestly amazing.

The pictures don’t do the colour justice and make it look much lighter than it is. In real life it’s a warm creamy beige and works perfectly with our modern garden design.

If you’re planning a garden renovation, DIY slatted fencing, or a modern garden makeover, I hope this helps 🤍
