RoseleighRose sharing our home renovations from a 2 bed bungalow to a 4 bedroom home.

18/09/2025

March 25 we started our garden renovation journey, we are now 6 months in and so close to finishing. Next month we will install the grass, finish the planters and get the electrics finished. Then all that’s left is the fencing which will do over the winter as and when we get time.
Seems so cruel that we finish the outdoor kitchen just as the seasons change but imagine the fun we will have out there in the summer or 26

Has anyone else noticed it’s getting a lot cooler? 🍂 We decided to test our heating before it gets too cold, and wow… boiling hot upstairs but freezing downstairs! 🥶 Renovating our home without heating and literally freezing solid has definitely left its scars on us lol – I wasn’t about to put up with that again!

After some research, we decided to balance our radiators by adjusting the valves. Here’s what we did:
👉 Start with the radiator closest to the boiler.
👉 Work your way through the house, opening each valve a little more.
👉 Make sure the radiator furthest from the boiler is fully open.

Did it work? Ohhh yes it did! 🙌 It took a few days of tweaking the thermostatic valves, but now Roseleigh is perfectly cosy and evenly warm.

The best part? We’re no longer overheating the whole house just to warm downstairs. That means lower heating bills, less wasted energy, and a more efficient home this winter.

If you’re having the same problem, give it a go – it might save you money (and keep you toasty) too.

Our forever home bungalow renovation story is my favourite. Home renovating is hard but it honestly is worth it 3yrs in and we’re still going but we have made the most amazing memories and created a beautiful home

This is going be be an insane before and after HOW did we live like this lol. We’ve poured our hearts into this open plan living area renovation and it’s finally coming together
From adding the Ivory kitchen units
paired with a stunning Reed Green kitchen island with gold accents, to our cosy family room complete with a media wall, every detail has been designed to bring warmth and style.

What makes it even more special? The seamless flow straight out into our newly renovated garden - the perfect inside-outside living space we’ve always dreamed of
We’re so close to the finish line now, and we honestly can’t wait to start making the most beautiful family memories in this space. We can’t wait to reveal it fully in all her beautiful glory

Our bedroom was the very first room we completed in the new build part of the bungalow renovation. I don’t often show this room off but we just love our little escape room.

We’ve spent the last week nursing the holiday blues watching tv, I had to re share just how amazing our new bedding is. Alex loves a gift thread count on a bedding set and this set has his seal of approval.

100% Egyptian long-staple cotton sateen fabric – the best
quality cotton
o Luxurious hotel quality
o Feels well-made
o Will last a long time
o 500 thread count
o Makes it very hard to get out of bed in the morning.

The outdoor kitchen was never the plan??!!What about some of these before and afters pics!!!We had planned to build a log cabin with a bar area Inside and then add a covered seating area but as we got closer to starting the garden renovation starting the idea and design was all changing and the culprit wasBig Als.I'll be the first to admit I wasn't so sure, I thought the maybe the design was to big and over powering but Alex said to me you trust me don't cha bear, I landscape gardens for years I know what I'm doing. Yep we disagreed quite a few times on it but in the end he's created the most perfect mix of our tastes and personalities don't cha think

I Still can’t get over our outdoor kitchen setup

I’m Sharing stills of our outdoor kitchen so you can really get a good look at it 😉

Black appliances, creamy cladding, microcement worktops, and that grass TV wall — it’s everything we dreamed of and more 🖤🌿
It’s become our favourite spot, whatever the weather. Obsessed is an understatement!

This was all brought to life by Big Al — he had the vision, and even though I wasn’t 100% sure on the scale of it at first, I trusted him… and it turned out to be the best decision 🙌 (He did let me choose the paint colour though 😄)

The kitchen island light…

This has weirdly been the hardest decision I’ve had to make during the whole kitchen renovation!!. It’s been 4 months since the kitchen was completed and STILL I can’t decide??? Honestly I don’t know what to go for, so thought I’d ask insta for some help. should I go for…..

Boujee over the top

Or a simple strip

I’ve driven poor Tanu mad with trying to make my mind up, chaining my mind or just saying “Tanu I just don’t think I’ll bother now” 🤭

With only 34 days until spring, I wanted to share our garden mood board with you. We started it years ago and we think we’ve finally settled.

We’re planning to go right across the back, an outdoor kitchen will be clad in a red cedar wood, with black accents. It will lead out onto an aluminium pergola covered seating area. With cream/black seating and a fire, this will have slat fencing with grass wall panels

With large Matt creamy porcelain slabs, along the left side will have slat fencing and black fence posts with of olive trees leading up a path LED strip path.

A nice little seating area with a bistro set will sit under the kitchen window and another patio will flow up to the bi folds bringing indoors and outdoors together. We’ve actually started to think we might go real grass instead of artificial!!! But time will tell I guess 💚🤭

The vibe I want for this garden is a cozy inviting vibe with soft lighting and LED strips lighting the pathing, ohh and a hint of let’s party under the LED lite pergola

House renovating brings you a constant battle with making the right choices first time!! To save time and money, our next decision to make is what colour the outside cladding should be, we was sure we wanted sage green but now seeing black we’re not so sure.

Do we match the cladding to the vibe of the garden which will have warm tones of cedar woods and blacks we could go for chocolate brown to complement the woods in the garden.
Or do we go with Sage green the colour we really like. It’s a hard choice and one we need to get right the first time as we won’t be doing this job again if we get it wrong 🫣🫠

En-suite mood board updates…

We want the En-suite to match the same vibe as our bedroom creamy calming with hints of gold glam. Now Alex has always had a few non negotiables in this room lol as follows

The Largest shower space we can fit in
Min of 50x50 square shower head
I’ve spent ages trying to find the biggest shower head but think I might have finally the size just not in brushed brass 😩
I had always wanted a fluted glass shower screen but now the style is coming together I feel it just needs a simple clear glass.

We have decided on the tiles, a creamy cloudy Polished Porcelain style, which compliments the fittings perfectly, with a wood style tile on the flooring to bring some more warmth into the room.

Vanity unit- I’ve not found one I love yet but I have a style in mind and think I might be able to create it with a few Ikea units, paint and spray paint. We’re still to choose the sinks and taps but I think I’d like them simple and stylish.

The mirror id love this to be a statement!!! But not sure how yet 😉😉 ohh did you like my drawing lol

Whilst I LOVE the creamy gold vibe I want to add a little colour and plan to do this with the towels, a deep aubergine purple is my top fav at the min closely followed by chocolate brown.

2025 is the DGAF year if I want aubergine purple towels then im having them lol

Let me know your thoughts and any suggestions 🫶🏻
