Singer & artist Chris Rea dies just days before Christmas.

Chris Rea, the British singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough whose hits included Driving Home For Christmas, has died at the age of 74, a spokesperson for his family said.
The statement said that he died “peacefully in hospital … following a short illness”.

Rea blended blues, pop, soul and soft rock on 25 studio albums, featuring hits including The Road to Hell, taken from a UK No 1 album of the same name; Driving Home for Christmas, a perennial seasonal favourite; and tracks such as On the Beach and Josephine that earned popularity in the Balearic dance scene. He sold more than 30m albums.

Chris will be sadly missed all over the world, can we push ‘Driving Home For Christmas’ to No.1 in the chart for this Christmas.

This evening one of the longest shops within the town closed its doors for the last time after a whopping 105 years in business.

R Lowndes, on Lumley Road in Skegness, is a small family business which first opened in the 1920’s. Owner Anne Roberts has worked in the shop for 45 years in which she took over the family business from her grandfather Roland Lowndes, said it felt like "the right time" to say goodbye.

We wish Anne the happiest of retirement’s and a farewell to one of the best toy/clothes shop within the town and across this coasts history. ❤️

Absolutely heartbreaking news regarding the terrorist attack in Australia (Bondi Beach) to know that 16 people are deceased among these numbers are all innocent members of the public husbands, wife’s & children which did not deserve to be murdered. When will this world wake up and do something about it.

More lives were saved today in Australia thanks to a muslim male named Ahmed al Ahmed aged 43, putting his own life in danger to save thousands of others by confronting an armed gunman and was able to disarm him of the firearm and save many lives. You are a hero Ahmed!

Our thoughts go out to everybody involved in this evil act of terrorism, we send our love to Australia. 💜

Last week Lincolnshire Police conducted a specialist fi****ms assessment at Fantasy Island in Skegness.

The scenario was conducted by trainer assessor’s from Lincolnshire Police fi****ms department. We’re pleased to announce the students on the course passed and are now fully qualified AFO’s (Authorised Fi****ms Officers)

This training ensures armed officers are prepared for any severe situation they are faced with.

🗣️ A brief statement from Superintendent Francesca Harrod, East Commander, observed the exercise and said: "It’s fantastic to see the level of preparedness and professionalism demonstrated here. This exercise is the culmination of months of dedication and hard work, and it’s clear how much learning and capability these officers have achieved. My thanks go to all our partners who helped make this possible."
