Rumour has it I’m still giggling at the fact that Barbour are selling little wax flat caps for dogs. We couldn’t pass the shelf without putting one on Luna. If there’s anything to takeaway she really pulls off a hat.

It’s a delightful evening for a trip to the countryside and watch some hot air balloons 🎈

I’ve had a few DMs about hot air balloons and when they are on so I thought I’d explain from our experiences.

1. The hot air balloons take off around 6:30/7am in the morning and from 6pm in the evening every day of the fair - weather dependent

2. The balloons will not take off under any challenging conditions that deem it unsafe - includes any chance of rain in the area and winds. It really is a game of luck.

3. You can watch them on the hills around the entrance of the estate. It does not matter where in these areas as the balloons move so you will see them from all angles

4. Whilst we haven’t done this ourselves, on a good day they fly all across the Peak District and you can see them from places like Baslow’s top hiking spots. I believe it’s beautiful.

5. To really elevate it, take a picnic basket, or some bacon sandwiches if you’re going in the morning, a cup of coffee or a cheeky bottle of fizz and make a really nice time of it.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any more questions 🥰

Ever wondered what goes on behind closed doors? I’ve recently been asked about tips and recommendations for how I create content or how I stay so on top of it (I feel like I don’t so I’m thrilled I’m giving that impression 😂) so I thought I’d share a few things that I live by when it comes to creativity.

1. Camera investment - the best thing I’ve ever done and continue to do for this space. My content got better, stronger and more creative and people really took note.

2. Environments are inspiration - I’m more creative at capturing in beautiful outdoor settings so of course my content is going to feel more eye catching or creative. Think about your environment whether at home or outside.

3. Moodboarding has become my new favourite thing to do when it comes to creative capture planning. I do this for bigger trips or certain outfits to help inspire me. You guys love the Hamptons vibe over summer for example and that started as just a moodboard.

4. I LOVE planning an outfit based on where we are going. Whether it’s a bright fleece for a hike or a pretty dress for a country manor, it really brings the creative to life and helps tell your story or vision. Again - moodboarding helps!

5. I love noticing little things and filming them. This has really helped me create filler content (b roll, short clips etc) so don’t be afraid to snap videos of these moments.

6. Editing is still a hard gig but I’ve come on a long way. Sadly I actually feel like I don’t do this as much as I used to because of the shift from photo to video but it’s such an art to crack.

7. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable is tough. Filming or capturing in the wild when there is the general public and you own a loud dog is tough. But the pay off is always worth it. Push yourself!

8. The biggest shift of success I’ve seen for us is starting to project more of our lives and interests and personality and less chasing trends or trying to fit in with a mould or niche. And I’m loving it.

9. Back yourself and don’t give up ❤️ every time I’ve felt like giving up I’ve pushed through and something great happens. Keep going and back yourself.

What’s your advice?

Who here is guilty of planning your weekly meals and STILL skipping out on committing to them and even being a little bit cheeky and opting for a takeaway instead? Because same 🤦‍♀️

We both work such busy jobs and often when we get home from work the last thing I’m in the mood for is sourcing what feels like 100 ingredients, chopping up everything and then having to follow what feels like 20+ fiddly cooking steps.

heard my prayers and kindly invited us to try out their new recipes. It’s been a few years since we’ve used HelloFresh and I forgot how blooming brilliant they are.

It’s made such headspace for me not having to plan the weekly food shops or spend hours cooking after work. Everything is already set and prepped for me to go.

The meals are delicious, the options are so varied and it’s just honestly been the relief I’ve needed after a busy working day.

I’ve also upped our plan so that our meals cover lunch as well which means no extra meal prep but we stay on track during the week. It’s fantastic.

🏷️If you’re interested in giving it a go, even if it’s just for a week to see how you get on, you can use our code HFLIFELUNA and you will receive a whopping 50% off your first box, 20% off your next 4 after that PLUS free fruit bundles for two months - guys that’s such a good offer even if I am bias!

What I would rather be doing on a Monday morning 🌅

It’s been far too long since I shared just a simple collection of photos like a ma and me Monday so here it is.

This is a throwback to our trip last month and our final cottage stay in Yorkshire. It felt like something out of Bridgerton with lots of cosy reading corners.

Now on the subject of readying - who is excited for the next ACOTAR series book drop?!

Looking for ways to make your house look like a country cottage? I got you 👌 We finally tried the frenchic wood staining hack and I am so chuffed with how it turned out.

This beam across the kitchen is such a eye sore - it’s cold and pale. We really wanted to add some warmth to the kitchen and I looked at all options from fake beams to paint. This one came out as the most cost effective and easiest solution.

It was definitely a trust the process kind of job but this is everything you need to know to transform a beam into a rustic wooden beam, giving it that cosy cottage vibe.
