Terminology Explained – What is a gimbal?

A gimbal is a stabiliser that keeps the camera steady while the operator moves.

It balances the camera on multiple axes, so even if we’re walking, panning, or dodging furniture on a shoot – the shot still looks silky smooth.

Gimbals are a great bit of kit and can make a relatively low cost shoot look far more expensive than it is.

And there you have it, we hope you now know what a gimbal is!
