Sorry for the long text grab a cuppa before reading lol
Firstly, Merry Christmas and a good New Year to you. This is a long message, There's no asking to physically donate on it. No re-posting on your timeline and I do not want your money. It is just me rambling on, some will read, some will simply scroll on, its all good because the importand bit was at the start
It was 2008 when I pushed a stick into my time line to mark starting my live streamed 'All nighter" New Years Eve Party. i've dis-counted the amount of time before that year just to be conservative with my time line. I also want to credit my buddy and my icon the late Les 'Mix-master' Adams who lit the spark under me in the early 80's and taught me how to mix vinyl in a way. that has kept my dancefloor full! all year round. He truly was a genius and it was his 'Capital House Party' over on Capital Radio that was my incentive for my shows today.
That was a whole decade before it became a trend and now many DJ's around the world combine their youtube with their DJ skills in a way that. truly re-invents DJ'ing online but I am truly humbled for the journey I've taken, And not just New Years Eve partys but over on awesome stations like Venture Radio, (www.VentureRadio.co.uk) a powerhouse of a station run by dedicated Husband and Wife team; just like over at www.ActaulRadio.com a station built on a mans passion for bringing great music to the public. I hold a barreload of respect for Pete Chapman, he kept the same values he began with and it paid off in the end.
And after all this, who could forget good ol' Allhallows on Air, the First radio station on a Haven Holiday park. The amount of trust and confidence they must have had in me is amazing. With guest like DJ SOS and little Matt Haven popping in as well as seasoned entertainers like Steve Halliday our very own on park Elvis. Visitors to the station could always get a coffee ans spend quality time chatting about music etc whilst listeners around the world could always tune in, to them it was like a soap opera. This buzzed into the future and turned in to Medway Sound then Medway Retro Radio (who could forget the daily banter between John and Dotty the rastafarican P***y cat and Natalie the naughty CSI girl - Sara (DJ SEZ) & Rick and the fantastic Williams family in Snodland.
Just to bring us up to date, there is also my mid morning show on a station built by a connumity - Maritime Radio every Monday at 11am. over on Tunein or on 96.5 fm lol. Broadcasting from Greenwich, the home of time! there is a listern later ability.
Most people reading this will be able to put themselves into my radio time line and have their own slice of good memories just as I do. Feel free to add your likes/disllikes.
I just wanted to tell you all this as a way to make you see that its more than just me playing random music - it is and always will be, the soundtrack of your life, its about you, the listener, its always about you ... on the night the chat box will be openen for you in intract!
