🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Happy St. George’s Day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

It’s the sight of a flag against a sky of blue,
The red cross snapping in the morning breeze,
A feeling of home that is deep and true,
Like the ancient roots of the forest trees.
It’s a day to remember where we began,
With the courage of old and a heart so bold,
Passing the spirit from man to man,
In a story of England that’s centuries old.

It means the warmth of a local pub,
Where the laughter flows and the stories start,
The friendly nod and the gentle hub,
Of a community keeping a beat in its heart.
It’s the scent of the rain on the April grass,
And the pride that swells as the children play,
Watching the seasons and shadows pass,
On this hallowed, bright St. George’s Day.

It’s the shield we carry in how we live,
With a steady hand and a helping word,
In the quiet strength that we choose to give,
And the songs of home that are always heard.
It’s more than a legend of dragons and gold,
It’s the love for the land that we call our own,
A heartwarming flame against the cold,
The greatest feeling we’ve ever known.

🌹 Proud to be British. 🌹
