A Met office yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms from 7pm Today ( Wednesday 19th august ) til 10am Tomorrow ( Thursday 20th August )🌩️

Further details from Met office ,
Heavy showers will develop this evening, becoming more frequent and widespread overnight. These are likely to bring 15 to 20 mm in an hour in some areas with as much as 30 to 50 mm falling in a period of six hours in some places. These accumulations may lead to a few places seeing some flooding. Alongside the rain, some showers are likely to be thundery, bringing the additional hazards of lightning and hail. The showers will ease from the northwest Thursday morning.

🌧️ Unsettled conditions are set to affect South Tyneside throughout the week as low-pressure systems push bands of rain and thick cloud eastward across the country, starting with relatively dry conditions on Monday before rain fronts move across the North East on Tuesday. ☁️ Expect lingering showers, variable cloud cover, and tight pressure gradients through Wednesday and Thursday, keeping weather conditions changeable along the coast around South Shields and Marsden before a gradual clearing trend attempts to establish itself heading into Friday. 🌦️

Temperatures 🌡️,
Across South Tyneside, daytime temperatures will open the week in a mild, comfortable bracket around 16°C to 18°C on Monday and Tuesday, before rising noticeably on Wednesday afternoon as warmer air builds across the North East to deliver peaks near 17°C to 19°C. 🌤️ Following this brief mid-week warm (Ish) spell, an incoming weather system will drag cooler air behind its front, pushing local afternoon temperatures back down into the mid-to-high teens (15°C to 17°C) for Thursday and Friday alongside an increased breeze coming off the coast. 🌬️

Weather forecast outlook for the rest of this week 🌦️ Plenty of rain on the way — which, thankfully, should help ease the very high fire risk we’ve had recently! 😅

After all the government warnings, emergency alerts and the temporary ban on disposable BBQs and other outdoor fire risks, it’ll be nice to finally see some proper rainfall ☔😂

Hopefully, this means fewer pesky alerts cluttering our phones every time the sun comes out! 📱🙄 🔥🍗🤣
