We are delighted to invite you to our first ever Freelancer or Founder talk, taking place this Thursday, 6th October. The event will give students the opportunity to hear the first-hand experience of self-employed Solent alumni and gain valuable advice for the future.
It is thought that over 4 million people in the UK are self-employed, whilst another 2 million are freelancers. And many people believe this is the future of employment, with the chance for workers to have flexibility and take their skills all across the globe. We’ve set up this event to give you knowledge of the industry and the opportunity to think about your future.
This month we have Adam Gonthier, a Live Events Freelancer. Since graduating back in 2017, Adam has gone on to many different roles, from Media Engineer to Director - and all as a freelancer. Currently, Adam can be found touring the world as a Camera Operator for Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. He will be talking about life as a freelancer in the industry and touching on how his time at Solent University helped him get to where he is today.
The 30 minute session starts at 16:30 in our dedicated space in the Spark building, JM109. Be sure to attend for Adam’s experienced insight into careers in Live Events and the chance to have your questions about freelancing answered!
This event is open to all Solent students and there’s no need to book in advance.
