A community radio station has been granted a 10-year extension on its broadcasting licence and expanded to DAB digital radio.

Great news! Ofcom has given us - your favourite community radio station - a 10 year licence extension! This means we can stay on air until at least December 2035 🎉🎉

🎉 Big congratulations to Unity 101 volunteer, Veronica Gordon!
She’s won the Hampshire Changemakers 2025 ‘Inclusive Equity and Diversity Award’ for her work at Our Version Media, empowering the region’s African, Caribbean & Black British communities to tell their own stories through digital media.
Veronica left her TV news career to share her media skills with others, amplifying Black voices and challenging mainstream media’s negative narratives about Black communities.
The Hampshire Changemakers 2025 Award - organised by Action Hampshire, the Daily Echo, Hampshire County Council, and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce - celebrates individuals and organisations making a profound impact across the county.
Veronica is also the founder of Vibrant Vibes, Unity 101’s show for Southampton’s Black communities.
