Thanks to your amazing support, we’re delighted to announce our crowdfunding campaign to keep the Stopham Saxon Mount within the Chichester District has reached its target! 🎉
With your help, we raised the funds needed to keep this remarkable treasure in our community.
In total, we received 166 donations to the crowdfunding page. We also received a generous offline donation exceeding the target - at the donor’s request, any surplus funds will contribute towards additional costs related to the conservation and display of the find, ensuring that it’s preserved and enjoyed for generations to come.
This has truly been a community effort, and we’re so grateful for each and every one of you who donated, shared, and supported this campaign. As our first crowdfunding campaign, the public response has been incredible - not only through donations but also in the kind messages and support we received along the way.
⏭️ Next steps: We’re now preparing to bring the mount home to The Novium Museum, where it will go through careful conservation before taking its place in our first-floor gallery, which is free to visit. We can’t wait to share this local treasure with all of you!
