3rd December at The Stage Door in Southampton. An HIV/A.I.D.S awareness evening with Jonathan Blake.

Jonathan Blake is a British gay rights activist and former member of Le****ns and G**s Support the Miners. He was one of the first people diagnosed with HIV in the United Kingdom and is one of the country's oldest surviving people with the illness.

I try to help give them more than that.”

This week’s show has a very special guest speaker. This week we invite Anna-Jayne Metcalfe, a researcher of tdor.translivesmatter.info, which brings together information for Trans Day of Remembrance events, including the names and as much information as possible needed to TDOR events that take place around the world.

Local Q***r History:

Today we're talking about Southampton and the surrounding areas very own LGBT+ radio show with .

This is presented by Danny from Southampton Pride and co-presented by Orlagh (also from Southampton Pride and one of our own too). The aim of the show is to support the LGBTQIA+ community, the show only plays LGBT+ artists and our allies. The show has been a platform for and ourselves when talking about our respective events.

This started a little over 4 years ago now. We spoke to Danny to understand how it all came together.

Originally, Danny had only went on Voice FM to speak about Southampton Pride on the Drivetime show. He was supposed to only be on for 15 minutes, he ended up being on for 2 hours. He was then asked if he would like to present a LGBTQIA+ show from there. Southampton Spectrum has been a weekly fixture on Voice FM on Saturdays at 14:00 to 16:00 every since.
