Last night at The Huddle

It was so wonderful to see new faces in the room and people coming back again. There's something really special about having a conversation with someone who truly understands. No long explanations needed they just get it.

One of the loveliest things for me is watching friendships bloom beyond The Huddle. You can live two roads away from someone and have no idea they're navigating something similar and now you're grabbing a coffee together, dropping each other a message and checking in.
A mental load shared. A reminder that you're not alone.

This is exactly what I hoped The Huddle would become bringing our local stoma and IBD community together, creating connections. I love how loud the room got with conversations, why because talking is medicine.

I’m so proud for starting this. Are you someone with a stoma, living with IBD supporting a friend or family member, come check the Huddle out.

🗓️The next one Thursday 26th November 4:30pm ~ 7pm.
✨ Your local Southampton stoma support hub.

Thank you too for coming along to share your products and talk through the process of ordering and fitting, Maria you're just fantastic and for sharing your amazing product.

I DID A THING!!! 🪂✈️🧡

Today I jumped out of a plane at 15,000ft and I am STILL BUZZING! 🤯🪂

My third skydive, but my FIRST with my stoma. Dolly (my stoma) was safely tucked away in my support pants. No issues at all. Wearing Level 2 Comfizz support pants. Normally wear 1, these were tight today but needed. Can’t rave about this support wear enough. 😉

I had the absolute pleasure of jumping with Gavin T who used to jump with the Red Devils (what a guy) EPIC experience. The views, the adrenaline and this time I got to control the parachute coming down.

And the best part? We did it for a great cause, raising money for the helping support local families, charities and people who need it most. What a wonderful team they are. ✨

Today was about making memories, pushing boundaries and giving something back at the same time. Got to see my daughter jump before me and my bestie come in.

Still smiling. Still buzzing. And yep I will sleep well tonight. Can’t recommend enough. Wicked day.

Is anyone else melting? 🥵☀️

I absolutely love the sunshine, but I think this is probably the hottest summer I’ve experienced since having my stoma and it’s safe to say I’ve had to seriously up my hydration game! Literally sweating my bag off in the gym this morning.

Having my large intestine removed means I don’t absorb fluids and salts as well as I used to, so this weather can catch up with me pretty quickly. Keeping hydrated has become less of a goal and more like an Olympic sport! Sip through the day. Gulping can cause flushes.

And the salt cravings? They’re very real! If you spot me happily demolishing a bag of salty crisps, I’m calling it doctor’s orders well, almost! 😅🥨

I often don’t feel like eating in this heat so the fruit ice lollies are so nice. Give them ago!

If you’re melting too, I see you. You’re definitely not alone! Whether you’ve got a stoma or you’re just wondering why the UK suddenly thinks it’s Spain.
My fans definitely working over time 😅

I did a thing💜
Introducing The Huddle

This Thursday, I hosted the very first Huddle meetup for people living with a stoma, Crohn’s, Colitis, IBD or have stoma for another reason in our local area.
📍Southampton

To be honest, I didn’t quite know what to expect, but seeing people walk through the door, connect with one another, share their experiences, laugh together and support each other made it all worthwhile. It’s people you have never meet before but they are your bottle necks because they get it!

The room was filled with honest conversations, understanding, a few tears, lots of laughs and a real sense of community. It was a reminder of just how important it is to have a safe space where people can talk openly with others who truly understand what they’re going through.

I’m so grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the evening so special. Thank you for putting your trust in me and being part of something that means so much.

A huge thank you also to my family and friends for all your encouragement, support, stoma team and General hospital for asking me to start this but the belief in me. You know who you are, thank you and I couldn’t have done this without you. 💜

This is just the beginning. The Huddle is only getting started so Huddle in.
our next meet up is on Thursday the 27th August at Goodthings coffee house. Hope to see you at the next one!

Please share this post so it reaches the people who might need it most. You never know who could be looking for a safe space like this right now. ✨

Much love

Cold plunge thoughts from today. 🥶

1 minute actually feels like a long time Started with a hot sauna to warm up, then straight into the plunge. Your body goes into cold shock mode heart rate up, breathing fast but that's where the magic is, improved circulation, reduced inflammation and a proper mood boost. Maybe I should have started with more cold showers first though. I really do get why people rave about it though. Next time I need to relax my arms.

Uncomfortable due to the cold shock (stoma was fine no issues at all) but kind of empowering so much so I plunged twice after warming up the first time ❄️

What's your plunge thoughts? Love them, hate them, still building up or yet to try?

It's the little things ...

Im taking a moment to appreciate the tiniest signs of hair growth?

After surgery and being thrown straight into forced menopause, my hair thinned so much more than I ever expected, I had a big chop as it was just falling out too. No one really prepares you for that part.

But lately these little baby hairs have started making an appearance. They're wild, they don't behave and honestly means everything to see a sign of hair growth again. It's these tiny, stubborn strands reminding me that healing is happening, even in the smallest ways and years on.

If you're in that in between phase hang in there. 🤍
