I did something huge last night…. I took myself on a solo date to the theatre! I’ve never been anywhere like this alone before and I was terrified at the prospect but I really wanted to go and see Hedda so I drove two hours to Bath and went and saw it!

This is a belated birthday gift to myself for getting through the last few weeks which I’ll be honest, have been the hardest of my life.

Turns out I am stronger and more capable than I ever thought possible 💚

Anyway, the show was incredible, is utterly mind blowing as Hedda, as are the rest of the cast, I’m so glad I got a chance to see it 😍

It’s my birthday today, it’s the first birthday in 14 years that I don’t have someone here to ‘make it special.’ It’s fine though. I’ve had a lovely day, tidying my house and making it a space I want to be in. I will take, peace and calm over a day I am made to feel guilty that someone has had to go of their way to consider me a priority.

Whilst this isn’t how I would have liked my birthday to be, this birthday is symbolic and I refuse to be sad today. Instead I can look forward to a future that I control not someone else. The anxiety is gone today.

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in with me today, if nothing else I now know who is important in my life and who isn’t worth holding on to.

Happy birthday to me and here’s to the future, it is already brighter!

Today has been so freaking fun! I love Hampton Court flower show it is always a joy but more of a joy this year cos I spent it with my gardening besties! Here come the girls!!!

Visited my completely over grown first plot last night to collect my first decent crop of loganberries for about three years. They usually succumb to Botrytis but the only year I don’t interfere and they do absolutely amazingly 😂

If you haven’t tasted loganberries they are a cross between a raspberry and a blackberry and taste like nothing you’ve ever tried before. They are rich, like a wine flavoured jam. Delightful!

I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with them yet, maybe a jam ☺️
