Scent work = one of our favourite parts of the weekly routine here at Paws Indoors. 🐾👃

It gets their nose working, builds confidence, and gives their brain a proper job to do. Tired brain, settled dog.

Why does your dog jump up for treats? 🐾 We accidentally taught them to.

Believe it or not, this is something WE trained into our dogs without realising it.

When we reward from above - treat straight to the mouth from a standing position - dogs learn to beat the system. They jump up to get there faster. Cue: a jumping dog.

The fix? Only reward when all four feet are on the floor. No jumping = no reward. In time, your dog makes the choice themselves to stay grounded.

This is exactly how we train it at daycare, because we believe daycare should be structured - a mix of training, fun, rest, and enrichment. Not just a free-for-all. 🐶

This is what a “day at daycare” actually looks like here 🐾
Not just play and naps - we’re in there practising handling, so vet visits, groomers, and everyday strokes from strangers don’t feel like a big deal. All at the dog’s pace, zero discomfort, just calm confidence-building.
This is the bit that sets us apart. We’re not just watching dogs play - we’re actively making their real life easier, one small rep at a time.
Patient. Brave. Ready for whatever life throws at them 🙌
