Between 2014 and 2026 the Charlie Tipper Experiment, The Charlie Tipper Conspiracy, Arrest! Charlie Tipper and The Charlie Tipper Rebellion recorded 5 sessions for Rocker’s Dandelion Radio show.

All sessions were recorded in a single day. As Rocker puts it:
“Sessions at StAR Studios are recorded in the manner of the BBC John Peel sessions, albeit in a much smaller space, and without the convenient BBC canteen. Bands set up pretty much as they would for a live gig, we record the backing tracks, then overdub the vocals, all within a few hours. As with the John Peel sessions, this immediacy always seem to bring out the best in bands - producing different versions of songs that are arguably as good if not better than the official studio versions, which often have had many more hours of honing and polishing spent on them to remove the rough edges. On my show we love rough edges!“

The sessions come just as they were first recorded – no clever mastering or editing, just straight out of the box, as it were. Warts ‘n All.
