If yes, then we need you!

Our Education Team, who make school visits and present to young people around the county, are creating a Youth Voices group. We need young people’s opinions and ideas, we need to understand your worlds, your language and your concerns in order to make relevant school content. This is where you come in! Tom, Aimee and Mel are hosting a chat on YouTube (Tuesday 20th May) from 5pm to 7pm. This will be the first meeting of this new group.

Tell us what you want when we visit your schools and put your questions to us. There will be a quiz and you will get to name YOUR group!

In time you’ll also get to visit our headquarters and you’ll meet our incredible police dogs. You’ll get to fly a police drone among lots of other exciting activities! If that sounds good, this new group is a must join!

🌡️ Severe weather alert: Help for rough sleepers 🌡️

With temperatures set to drop below freezing tonight (Thursday 2 January), our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is now in place.

🏠 What this means:
The Local Authority will provide accommodation for all verified rough sleepers, regardless of status, throughout the cold spell.

Do you have news you would like to share with local residents?
Did you know in every issue of Simply Spalding Magazine we have a business news section and you can share your news FREE of charge!
If you are a one man band and taking on an apprentice, or one of your staff members has raised funds for charity, we want to know about it!

All you need to do is send approximately 200-250 words to [email protected] and any logos/images by Tuesday 10th December and we will do our best to share on socials and in the next edition of Simply Spalding - which reaches over 15,000 local homes. Best of all, this is all FREE to you.

🎅🎅Santa's Grotto at Birchgrove Garden Centre is now open every weekend, as well as 23rd and 24th December! 🎅🎅No booking required.

🎅Look who’s grinning ear to ear! Sally and Carlos from Something Special coffee shop were given a sneak peek of Santa’s brand-new grotto at Birchgrove by a mischievous elf - and it's fair to say they look happy about it! 🧝‍♂️✨

The excitement is building because Santa’s Winter Wonderland Grotto officially opens this weekend. Starting Sunday, 1st December, Santa will be here every weekend (and on the 23rd & 24th December!) spreading Christmas cheer, meeting little ones, and helping them pick a special gift to take home. 🎁

🎟️ Tickets are just £12 per child (adults go free!) and include:
✔️ A magical meeting with Santa
✔️ A carefully chosen gift
✔️ Time to snap some festive photos 📸
