I've been editing Sam's TED Talk for Inspire 2 Ignite so much this week that apparently Tom has memorised parts of it.

Sam's talk includes this powerful line:
"In the UK, over a million young people are economically inactive. It's considered a crisis. But what are we really doing about it? These aren't just statistics. These are our young people."

A serious point. An important message.

Fast forward to today.

Tom is explaining a playground disagreement with all the gravitas of a TED speaker.

Me: "Tom, it's just a toy."

Tom: "No, Mummy. These aren't just toys. These are OUR toys."

I nearly fell over laughing.

After hearing me replay Sam's talk approximately 7,000 times while editing, Tom has started delivering everyday observations like he's addressing government ministers and industry leaders.

At this point, I expect him to walk into Year 3, click a presentation remote and ask his classmates:

"But what are we really doing about snack time?"

The power of repetition is real.

Keep on keeping on

As a storyteller (with ADHD), it’s been fascinating (and mildly exhausting) trying to keep up with someone who might have (Im 100% sure) ADHD too. 🤣😂🤣

This week reminded me why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place.

Creating content for the incredible hardworking team at CPCA has been such a fun, energising, and inspiring experience. There’s something special about capturing people who genuinely care about what they do and the community they serve.

Ironically, for someone who has spent years helping brands and businesses tell their stories, I struggled to create content for myself for a very long time.

I think storytellers are a bit like photographers… we’re often more comfortable behind the lens than in front of it.

But something has shifted in me over the past couple of months.

Maybe clarity, of purpose, of passion, of mission.
Maybe because I've finally decided to stop consuming to intentionally creating more.

Whatever it is, it feels like I’ve awakened a part of myself that had been quietly waiting in the background.

And honestly?
I’m just getting started.

More stories to tell.
More people to spotlight.
More moments to capture.
More community to build.

And now… helping bring stories and conversations to life through The Big Listen.
Really excited to be part of a meaningful partnership between St Neots Initiative and CPCA as they come together to bring The Big Listen to St Neots.

The semantics is giving 🤣😂

Somewhere between “inclusive intergenerational dialogue” and “the town group chat finally meeting IRL”... we hope you realise we were actually serious when we said everyone has a seat at the table.

Whether you arrive with policy ideas, strong opinions about parking, dreams for the future of St Neots, or just for the Big Listen Meal Deal, you're very welcome.

Come for the conversation.
Stay for the accidental therapy session about town planning.

Join us at The Big Listen.
