From a trip to Biddulph Grange yesterday 🏛️🌳

It’s hard to believe this extraordinary estate hides an entire Victorian "world tour" within its gardens - complete with China, Egypt, Italy and a Himalayan glen 🌍

It’s also home to Britain’s oldest stumpery and oldest Golden Larch, while the mansion itself was largely rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1896 and later spent decades as a hospital.

Quite a bit of history hidden behind those hedges! 🌿⏳️

Visiting the Heartbeat filming locations in Goathland, aka “Aidensfield”, whilst staying in Whitby last week 😍

Such a beautiful place ❤️ We even got to meet the lovely Tricia Penrose, who played Gina Ward in the series and is now a co-owner of The Goathland Hotel - which also featured in Heartbeat as the “Aidensfield Arms” ❤️

Goathland Station also doubled as Hogsmeade Station in Harry Potter ⚡

A few from a peaceful walk around Knypersley Reservoir this week. 🌿📷

Just above the main reservoir is the much smaller Serpentine Reservoir (shown in the second photo), built between 1781 and 1783 and used as part of the water supply for the local canal network. 💧 It’s a remarkably early example of a canal-feeder reservoir and predates Knypersley by several decades.

What I find interesting is that the Serpentine sits so close to Knypersley that plenty of people probably walk past it without ever realising they’re looking at the older reservoir. 👀

As demand for water increased, the much larger Knypersley Reservoir was added in the 1820s. Its construction wasn’t without problems either - the dam suffered from persistent leaks, and the great engineer Thomas Telford was brought in to investigate and carry out improvements. 🛠️

Wow, another brilliant day yesterday for the Reapers Car Club uk BBQ at the Brewery event at Lymestone Brewery, Stone! 🍖🚘🏍🍺

Starting with a meet-up and convoy from Trentham, through Stone town centre and on to the Brewery, there was food, stalls, live music from the brilliant Cherry B, a fantastic atmosphere with the best people and, of course… plenty of chrome! 😎

Thanks very much for having us along again guys - we loved it! ❤️
