THE YANKS ARE COMING 1st & 2nd AUGUST 2026 🇺🇸🇬🇧 (sadly not in Saddleworth)

It gives us the great pleasure to announce that Yanks and Monopoly events have joined forces to stage next year's official YANKS event!

It will take place in Ashton under Lyne and Stalybridge, over the weekend of 1st & 2nd August 2026.

What to expect at Yanks event - Military and Classic Car Displays - Tea Dance - Military and Vintage Stalls - Indoor Craft Fair - Yanks Film in Cinema - Big Swing Dance - Military and Classic Car Parade (Sunday Morning) - TBC Fly Past by BBMF - Live Entertainers.

Yanks organiser Paul Dogtags Higginson said “we are delighted to have gained the support and backing of Monopoly Events who we believe can take the event to another level”

Monopoly Events CEO Andy Kleek said “we are delighted to be involved with this event, it’s so important to remember and celebrate our rich history, and bring our community together in the process”

So come and join the fun, relive the site and the sound of 1940's. Keep tuned in for more updates in the coming months.

We are looking for traders, military and classic vehicles, and military displays. Expenses offered. Veterans & Re-enactors will receive FREE drinks and refreshments.

Our ‘Got Your Back’ Coat Campaign is back! 🧥

For the past two winters, our community has come together to help keep people warm — and this year, we’re doing it again!

We’re collecting good-quality winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves to help people experiencing homelessness.

Saddleworth Marina's new friendly family monthly market iwill be bursting with excitement this Sunday, November 2nd.

There will be children's fairground rides, Hook a duck, teacup rides, and organ music.

The market, launched by Saddleworth Marina, will feature:
- *Local Makers and Artisans*: Handmade crafts, artwork, and unique gifts;

- *Food and Drink*: Freshly baked goods, street food, and local specialties.

- *Live Music*: Entertainment for all ages;

- *Free Craft Activities*: For childrento enjoy

- *Dog-Friendly*: Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Don't forget the Kingfisher pub is open early from 10am offering breakfasts and coffees and Adam and the team look forward to serving great favourites for the children and family.

And should it rain, don’t be put off … Brand-new gazebos and a new layout is planned to put the market experience semi undercover where you can enjoy and share all the vendors offerings.

The next market take place Sunday November 2nd, 11am to 4 pm at Saddleworth Marina in Greenfield, near Uppermill and Oldham .
